this is insane! - this company has gone insane!

Posted: Aug 28, 2013

Before they were only like a little crazy but now MM is totally certifiable! There is NO WAY I can make up all the hours that I could not get in during my shift this week.  SHAW - how would you like to sit at YOUR desk till midnight every night making sure you got your time in??? oh, right I forgot YOU'RE SALARIED! so you don't have to worry about silly mundane things like eating and sleeping.

This is a house of cards that will COLLAPSE within the next quarter.  Mark my words.

This is their way of forcing you to change your schedule. - We are now at their beck and call.

They figured why tell everyone to change their schedule when we can just take away the no pay option. Personally, I can't go without pay and have been at their beck and call for years, so I realize this change is new for a lot of people. It sucks, but there isn't much I can do at the moment. I start classes next month, with the hope of starting a new job a year from now.

Collapse? What does that mean? - I have a ton of work every day.

Are all of the people who have NJA working day shift or something? I work evenings/nights and have a massive amount of work every single day. I ran out for a couple of hours on Memorial day.

Rather than "collapsing" I suspect they will very simply move people to the accounts that have a surplus of work.

Of course, I realize that in some people's eyes MModal can do nothing right, ever.

It is - not

that they do not do anything right, it is that it is never right for the US workers. Trust me, you will run out of work at some point and an Indian will be doing your work and the work you have left will be the lowest garbage and a bunch of US workers will be fighting for it. It's the MModal way.

well bully for you - there is no work here

There is no work in the morning and there is no work at night and there may be some work on the weekends but probably not anymore because everyone who couldn't get their time in during the week will be trying to make up their time then.

Go ahead, blame this on me if you want to.

You won't have a ton for long when the - night shift MT too

1st and 2nd shift MTs get NJA and now have to make it up later in the evening/nights, during your shift.

massive amount of work - dolly

As you state in your post, they will very simply move people to the accounts that have a surplus of work. That may well be your accounts, your scheduled evenings/nights. Hope you have lots of PTO saved. You'll need it for NJA then.

They are crazy like a fox. You are - right

there is no way you can make up those hours. Oh, they won't be laying off anymore MTs like they stated, because they will be firing them due to not completing their shifts. Wait until the new line count requirement comes in to play. With all the extra crap we have to do, copies, addresses, etc, line counts are going to be hard to maintain.

new line count? - RS

Did they raise it again? It had been at 150 lph for FTFB. I struggled with that because of the caliber of reports, I offered to go down to FTLB, where they still had the old LPH requirements, but they refused to consider that option, and just tossed me aside like yesterday's garbage, despite 4 years of loyal service to Spheris before the buyout. What I remember is that stupid increase in micromanagement. My 5 report average was passing, but that wasn't good enough anymore, ALL individual reports had to be at 99%. My QC would give me about the MS along the lines of "while 4 out of 5 is technically passing, because of that one particular question you missed, we're going to fail you anyway." I politely informed her that I noticed an increased emphasis on micromanagement, that employees work better when the pressure is dialed down rather than turned up, and I got chewed out for being "unprofessional."

Is the future I feared of 200 lph minimum, with 100% minimum quality coming to pass? Because that is completely unreasonable. Just because the valedictorian can do it, doesn't mean the whole class can.

Is This Insane?
Jun 20, 2010

I applied with the Q about a year ago and was offered a position, got my paperwork, etc.  I was fully hired and assigned to a SA, had my account information, and MQ was just awaiting receipt of my paperwork to send out my equipment.  Another offer came up, which I accepted, and contacted MQ to tell them something had come up and I was unable to accept the position they had offered at that time. The recruiter was very nice and told me to contact them if my situation changed and they w ...

Insane Pay Rates?
Feb 04, 2013

I recently had an interview for a company I applied for last year (they opened new accounts). The interview seemed fine and I was offered the position, however I turned it down. The are paying 2.5 cpl SR  with 1800 lines expected per day (actually was told some of the "lazier" MTs only typed 1400, thought this was rude of her to say) and ST 5 cpl but no minimum was mentioned as majotiry is SR. I have over 13 years in the MT field.  I know wages have dropped recently but is 5 cpl t ...

Valid/invalid Blanks - Totally Insane
Jun 25, 2013

Totally ridiculous this valid blank and invalid blank.  It is invalid if I don't understand it and leave a blank (which is what I am trained to do) but it is a valid blank if they however cannot understand it.  I am marked off for my INVALID blanks but not for their VALID blanks.  I do not now and never have left blanks without trying to fill them in.  These were not post audit (at least yet) but it still upsets me in that I always maintain a high level of accuracy and n ...
