Can someone please tell me why I am only getting operations to do for MM--
I know they are behind, but this is is ridiculous -- only OPs???

OPs are my favorite, would gladly do them 12 hours a day I love them so much. And with the mandatory OT I certainly would love that in my pool that this boring stuff I'm stuck on. With my luck, you're probably working on my POD, and by the time I get to those reports I'll end up working on your clinic notes and echos.

I might not mind. Since I went part-time, I get mostly operations (not standards) most of my shift. The OPS are pulled from each hospital, and often sound quality is poor. I wonder if going part-time automatically made my work 85% operations. I guess I will ask my supervisor. Let me see, which one is it NOW?!!?

Aren't jobs ranked according to difficulty, whether it be content, difficult dictator, or bad sound quality? Maybe you are assigned the most difficult jobs.

Are you kidding me? If you are a MT3 like me, this is my dream. I would kill to be able to do just OPs All the time! I always wanted to be bumped to MT4 who get OPs first.

I was under the impression that there were only 3 levels and now you are telling me there are 4?
I left in 2009 and was a tier 4 MT/ME, operative notes only. sm - oldtimer

There were very few MTs designated tier 4 and I have no idea if there are still a few quietly working in the shadows or not.
There was a tier 4 a few years ago - sm

It was one of their quickly fading ideas. It was mentioned for a little while, asking any MTs if they wanted to test up to tier 4 and only get op notes. I'm sure there are still some out there, but it hasn't been mentioned since, so I'm sure they scratched that idea.
work flow questions - newg

If you have a team lead MME on your shift, she probably decides your work flow.
I believe there are MMEs who have the same powers of a supervisor as far as manipulating another MT's work flow and also being able to see the backlog and who is on, etc., but do not have a supervisory title or the responsibility that goes with it.

I think I would not mind if most of the reports were decent, but most are not, the sound is bad or the dictator simply does not do a good job. i can be off 2 days and when I come back I have OPs in my que 2 to 3 days behind. Do some just don't do operations???
ops - newg

There are probably some who don't do ops. Also, there are people off for the holiday.
I do agree that it has to do with the dictator, not the worktype.
Still, it is better, in my opinion, not to have someone in there messing with another's work queue. I don't think the MME job calls for a lot of special powers. JMHO.
You must mean a PC - MME

An MME doesn't have any power to do anything with the backlog. The only difference between an MME and an MT/ME is that they get an extra report type (QA).
PC - newgie

Not sure all MME's are equal in that regard.
Do PC's get involved in job flow?
I'm an MME and have access to the backlog - sm

That's it though, and I had to beg to get on the global system, saying I can't adequately do my job without the ability to look at ILP-typed reports. The system that everybody had that they took access away recently was just the US side of things. I still have global. There is absolutely no way to assign work; its just for reference. If you think an MME has the ability to assign work flow, then certainly the PC does as that is who the MMEs report to and get picked at by, just like everybody else.

I have been bounced to a different pod and getting all kinds of reports from all kinds of facilities. Oh to be able to do just 1 work type.
I would love to have only OPs - they are the best for line building
[ In Reply To ..]
I can get up to 500 lines an hour doing OPs. Don't understand why people don't like them. I will gladly take them all.
all ops - newgie

Don't think anyone said they don't like them, just that we are supposed to be getting all worktypes, aren't we?
I think ops are like anything else. Sometimes the dictators are bad, sometimes good.

I have always typed my initials with the doctor then me as ABC/def. That is the way I was taught when I got my MA degree and have always seen it as that until I started working for this office. They type it ABC:def or ABC;def. Nothing is consistent and seems like everyone does whatever they feel like. Also, when typing a note for a PA and CRNP I always put their initials and then the initials of the doctor and then mine such as ABC/DEF/ghi and I have not seen one report t ...

Can anyone state the rule for proper usage of a or an? I know you use "a" when the noun you are referring to begins with a consonant and use "an" when the noun you are referring to begins with a vowel. However, is there a rule that applies to usage of a or an when it pertains to the below?
