But it has been slim pickings for a while..Guess the overseas is hitting us, or the new hires, there have to be a lot cause I see a TON of mistakes when I go in Docqmanage. Oh well, you get what you pay for.

I get only acute care, and recently that's been "drying up." Been pretty good otherwise.

to your accounts due to no work in other regions. You can't really just blame on new hires.

They offshore accounts with no notice at all. West dried up very badly and lots of people were trained for the Fluency and switched over to new accounts.

I dont get into the whole seeing where jobs are going to thing, makes no sense to me..But when I check the status, I dont even see my hospitals listed..If there is no work, they disappear from the list? Sorry Im clueless cause I really didnt give a darn until now..All I want to do is work..and why couldnt they run out yesterday when it was 70 and sunny instead of 60 and rainy?

Today the lowest numbers I have ever seen for north, fewer than 2000. You are correct, if there are no jobs in your account, they disappear from the list.

and that is why so many CCMs were let go and the ones that took their place were in higher positions. The only thing left on the accounts in the west are overflow accounts where they have on-site MTs. How I see it is that they will dwindle it down so bad that they will no longer need domestic MTs. It is happening at a pretty fast pace. People without work are leaving the company or seeking unemployment. Unemployment only lasts so long and in my state you have to be actively searching for a new job- it's not just free money for however long MModal decides to keep you without work. You must continue to search every day and report it in my state to even get unemployment, and there are job ads everywhere online for our line of work.

I'd bet my last glass of wine that there will be very, very few domestic MTs left by the end of 2013. This situation is going to come to a head pretty soon, and I think the heads are rolling since they announced a survey- which is a no brainer! We want work and we want more money and we want the 20 page account specs to end. Well, at least that's what I would like to have seen when I was there. I couldn't hang on any longer. I hung on for 2 months.

the work to be done in the US, but they still sent them to India. Apparently the profits were worth risking losing the accounts. We're also just a number, and the client doesn't have any way to really know who's actually transcribing the report other than an M-Modal MT. Don't kid yourself into thinking they can't eventually offshore everything. The doctors and hospitals obviously don't care about quality anymore, as long as they get Walmart prices. Sad but true.

Those so-called true to the USA accounts will go offshore to save the money. Nothing is ever set in stone, as you should already know if you are employed here. Rules change daily and sporadically and never apply to everyone.

Why am I not getting routed that work? I thought when you ran out, you get put into the next one with work. How come I am not getting anything, for 1/2 hour now...

that someone would probably be your TSM. If they haven't set you up to receive anything after you run out of your primary, then you won't get anything automatically.

please visit your state's online workforce commission website and learn your options. MModal isn't going to clue you in to this! Here is a quote from my state's workforce commission:

If you lost your job because of increased foreign imports or shifts in production to foreign countries, you may be eligible for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), a federal program that helps workers find suitable new work. TAA benefits may include retraining, the Health Coverage Tax Credit, job search and relocation allowances, and weekly benefits called Trade Readjustment Allowance (TRA).

This TAA has been available for a few years, but nobody and I mean nobody from Medquist or Mmodal has been eligible. You have to get laid off. Quitting or running out of work constantly does not count. You actually need a letter from the company stating that you were laid off because of offshoring which you know just ain't gonna happen.

There was much discussion on this board after this petition got filed and not one MT or MME was eligible for TAA. Medquist made sure that no one was actually laid off. They would overhire and overstaff, overaudit and basically force people to quit. If Mmodal tells you to switch your shift and you refuse you are not eligible because they are providing work and you are refusing. Doesn't matter if there is no work on that shift either. The only ones that I know that might have gotten TAA were supervisors and above who actually got laid off with severance pay.

I'm not sure how they define threatened with layoff, but I would think if you have gone day after day after day without work AND we have this petition (No. 81128), and particularly if you are already drawing UE, you would qualify for the retraining and other benefits.

When they offer you to make up the time at night or on the weekend? I think maybe they get around it that way. They had work for you at midnight, or whenver, or on your day off/weekend, and you didn't take it. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it might be their way around it.

I'm just saying that it's worth checking out with your state UE office. Just tell them MModal has a petition number and you don't have any work because it's all gone to India, and see what they say. Especially if you're filing for UE anyway.

...I think they got offshored. We got praised for doing such a good job, but I don't think it was us who did them. I think they don't always tell the TSMs, actually. There were just too many, then POOOF.

North Region - Lost a significant amount of work due to being - shifted overseas and

ever since they did the "restructuring" etc. lots of things have gone global, including the IT dept.

They combined some teams with others and in turn those MTs are having to learn work from those teams, which would explain the increase in errors, decrease in work volumes etc.

With the extra work sent overseas, the accounts are now over-staffed for MTs in the US and thus leaving us with no work.

I was on a fairly busy account that consisted of about 16 hospitals that stayed busy, but a chunk of the work went global and now the accounts are over-staffed, people are being shifted permanently to new teams and those of us remaining are having to learn new accounts.

And to top it off, all this around the holidays when work is already slow and when people need the money the most.

I'm in the North too and definitely like you said, way big drop in jobs since the restructuring (mid October time). While it is challenging to learn the new accounts, I'm getting the hang of it and production is slowly starting to pick up compared to the "good old days" when we had abundance of work with dictators you knew, etc.

Always a shame when we lose jobs overseas especially for the mighty dollar.

Yes, the name of your accounts will disappear from the backlog - summary if there is no work on it.
