For M*Modal to spew forth their B.S offer to the MT Dept. at our community hospital. Have some ideas already but could use more suggestions/ideas on ways to get the community involved- to let our patients know exactly where our JOBS and THEIR health records will be going.... any help/ideas???

First, get facts. If you can, access Glass Door.com I think and it will give you reviews for both Mmodal and Nuance. One is just as bad as the other. Then when they tell you that you will still keep your jobs if you come work for them, ask them how long will it be before you are taken off accounts that you know and if it is being shipped to india. If you can find it on this forum, there was a poster called A1C1 and she went through the same thing you're going to be. She flat out refused to work for Mmodal. So, if I were you, start looking for something else NOW. Don't work for Mmodal. All the things they will be telling you are false. They will say anything to get your account.

It may not carry much weight, but 1 thing physicians get use to is the transcriptionists having familiarity with the area they are in, they know the docs name, and other places around so put things in faster because they know. Also, what about taking that revenue out of the area, loss of wages, taxes, just overall loss of jobs. Last but not least, the transcriptionists there CARE, outsourced transcriptions are doing working on production. They may not listen, but there may be 1 person there that has a heart, can only pray there is. Ask them if saving a few cents is worth the guilt of ruining lives. I would love to walk up to the person wanting to outsource and ask to see their wrist, touch their pulse, and look them in the eye and say, I just wanted to see if you had a heart, because it is hard for me to believe someone could be so heartless over the love of money and be able to sleep at night knowing what they had done to hardworking people. That is why I would never make it in management, I care too much about people.

I'm here. Our lay-off is pushed further towards the end of the year now. I think our lay-off is all in God's hands now. I'm just going to see how this plays out. I've said my peace. Although I am interested if you work for a hospital owned by a company with the name starting with L. E-mail me. I would love to know what is going on at your facility.

For the suggestions. I have my list of questions ready (which I already know the answers to), but I want the powers that be at the hospital to actually answer them. I want to see how much they truly know about the company they are trusting to perform OUR work and OUR patients' medical reports/PHI with! I have info. on the bankruptcy and other various items printed out and ready to go. What I'm really in need of is advice on the best ways to get the word out to our local community. Again, thank you all for your suggestions! For 16Transcriber, the system that I work for does not start with an "L", although, interestingly enough, one of the hospitals within our system had a bit of a delay as well. I don't think it's quite as long as yours, however.

If I didn't need the gol dang money so bad I'd quit right now! More work added on my plate after you cut my pay...twice! This is beyond what I can handle today. A HUGE clinic with many different specialties in this area has went to Epic and now have laid off 30 MTs. They said with Epic they didn't need them all. What a shame! I have been working so hard to still get a decent line count yet not make big errors, yet still am getting them. I pretty much have the numbers down pretty well, i.e. age, vitals, meds and labs, but seem to make errors on something I might have typed once right in the report, but later got it wrong! It just killls me. I need to make more than minimum wage, and I have given up on getting the bonus, but I am still sick to my stomach when I see silly errors I make in FIESA. not been ONE SINGLE LINE so far in any report that has not needed editing in some fashion. Not ONE SINGLE LINE. I have posted on here many times about putting in requests to have doctors removed from ASR and have been told it doesn't do any good. Apparently some people are listening. I was told that they are flooded with requests now and it is taking a little longer to get to my requests reviewed. I was looking over already transcribed reports by others to check on a medication and came across a mistake that really makes us look foolish and is something, IMHO, that any transcriptionist would know and this doctor speaks good English. Would you notify QA so they can correct the report or notify the hospital to correct the report? Thanks for your opinion. ...

apparently I was only employed by Nuance thru last December. Starting in January I was employed by Transcend. This is as per the state unemployment benefits office.
