So no one has heard anything about coding acceptance - or rejection since late this a.m.

I wonder why some heard this morning and now nothing for all this time.

Nope. - anon

The theory that offer letters will take longer holds water, as they will include 60 different benefit amounts.

However, I still believe there are rejection letters wending their way ever so slowly to some of us.

It's so interesting to me that ... - anon

There was speculation that there were possibly "hundreds" of us taking the test, and if that were the case you might think the rejection notices would be coming rapid fire. The fact that they've really slowed down and there is only one weekday between now and the day of orientation suggests maybe there weren't as many applicants as we might've thought.

I still believe the rejections will be (are?) finished up today and the acceptance letters will come tomorrow. I would guess they would need to give us at least one day to firm things up with our TSM, and out of courtesy for those who don't normally work on Mondays or Tuesdays to make plans to be on board for orientation. Surely they won't do rejections AND acceptances all on Friday ... would they?

Who knows what they will or won't do. - anon

I agree, perhaps not as many took it as we thought.

It just seems weird that if that were the case that people who scored mid 90s were rejected. But then that leads one to believe there was more to the selection process than the test scores alone.

If we don't hear one way or the other in the next 15 minutes, it will be tomorrow. I don't see MM paying overtime to send out these letters.

Round and round it goes.

Hired For Coding/billing/transcription, But Told No Coding
Aug 13, 2013

Accepted a job, gave 2 weeks notice, and yesterday was my first day.  I was to be helping out transcription (1000 jobs behind), and then sitting with billing and training with coding as their coder will be out on maternity leave in December.  The office is adding another surgeon, and they are rapidly expanding.  So I gave a proper 2 weeks' notice to my former employer (2 hours on the road there and back, low salary - now less than half distance and $3 more an hour) and starte ...

Coding School - Fate Of Coding Due To EMR
Apr 10, 2012

Wondering if there are any coders out there who can give me an idea of the fate of coding due to the EMR. Are there still coding jobs out there? Would it be wise to attend school for coding at this point or do you think it will be lost to the EMR eventually? I live in a rural area and there are advertisements for registered/accredited coders at medical facilities, but I'm afraid of spending all that time and money on schooling only to not be able to find a job. Any information/insight w ...

Do I Need To Take An Actual Coding Course To Learn Coding?
Feb 26, 2014

My sister is taking an online coding course and complains that there is no real "teaching," that she's basically just doing the work in the work book and entering answers online, then taking an online chapter test.  This makes me wonder about the necessity of signing up for an actual course.  I would like to learn how to code, but to me, without any actual instruction, what's the purpose of signing up for one of these online courses? ...

Have You Heard?
Nov 24, 2009

I have tested a few times before on mttest.com, a site that several MT companies use for testing potential MT's, and recently received this piece of information: In sections that require you to type in the correct answer, typing a "Capital" letter in the first letter of your answer constitutes a wrong answer. I don't know if this is accross the board but thought it good info to share. Maybe everyone already knew this, and I can't even remember if I did that on previous tests but i ...

Has Anyone Else Heard This? Sm
Dec 03, 2009

I just heard that the 2 largest MTSOs in the world are approaching virtually every large to medium-sized hospital and medical center in the country with an offer for 10 cpl for transcription.  I'm not even sure who the 2 largest are, but I'm pretty sure one of them is CBay and both are offshore companies to be able to offer that rate.  This is really concerning because this could lower the rates for U.S. MTs even MORE or could literally put all U.S. companies out of ...

Anyone Heard Of TNI?
Jul 31, 2010

I am looking through companies hiring new graduates, and I came across TNI.  I am getting ready right now to apply.  I researched right now and do not see any lawsuits against them or anything. When DIT offered me a job right after I completed my internship (which I did NOT take), I was excited.  Then my adviser told me not to take the job, so I didn't.  She put me with that company because she said it was a great company to intern for, not to work for.  I know I s ...
