Slow Audio Download - Irisella

Is anybody else having a problem with slow audio download? I am not a Medquist employee but work for a hospital from home using the DocQscribe platform. For the past 3 months I have been having a problem with slow audio download where the voice file loads into my computer so slowly that I have to actually wait in order to continue typing. It is an intermittent problem, not with every dictation, not necessarily associated with long dictations. I have been getting the usual runaround from technical support. I have a business DSL line, so I wouldn't think that would be the cause. A new modem did not help. I have a coworker with the same problem, but another coworker who is having no problem at all. Any feedback would be appreciated.

this problem for months! I have Comcast, and they keep telling me it's Comcast of course. It has been especially bad this week. I am ripping my gray hairs out!

I don't know if you have contacted the Medquist technical support people. Their response to me was that I was the only person with this problem. One of the explanations I was given was that the voice file transfer from Medquist to my computer is not through a single provider but follows "the path of least resistance," and if there is a slowdown it is due to a slow server from someone in the middle. If that is the case, then why isn't this problem more widespread?

ready to contact MQ tech support again right now. I just had to break a log and log off because I can't get sound again. I also have such a lag when I am in an ASR chart, it is driving me crazy. I am typing much faster than the computer can spit out words. Interestingly, as soon as I am logged out of DocQscribe, my computer works quickly and perfectly with no problems;) ARGH

OMG! Thanks for posting this. I have Comcast too! - I thought it was just me!

I have actually been having problems with Comcast and they came out last week; PHONE PROBLEMS. Now the internet is really, really slow. The mornings are horrible. It takes FOREVER to load up a job. Sometimes it just does not work with a router, but okay if computer is plugged into modem. Strange isn't it?

I would still like to hear from anyone having a problem with keyboard functions and audio being slow and stuttering. Found out the hard way just this week that download speed is now 2 mbp or greater, with fluency shutting down on uploads. When did this happen? I was treated as if it is my ISP that is below-par on speed, but had upped to a 1.5 mbp plan just for "Q" a year ago. Did my ISP just stop working well with Fluency, or did the "Q" once again cause issues without allowing its employees who are home-based to plan for them. I'm definitely sure I have some bugs in my computer as manifested by my search results bringing me to repeated links other than what I clicked. Does anyone know of a way to download WorldClient (the e-mail system for Nuance) e-mails to your own computer? As far as I know, the regular MTs/MLS do not have access to connect Outlook or something like that where I know how to download them. And we also don't have send access to send outside the Nuance system, so we can't e-mail them to ourselves. Short of printing every e-mail, any ideas? ...
