does anyone have docuscribe installed on a 64-bit computer? I have windows Vista 64-bit and support told me it will not work, that it is too fast for docuscribe to handle. She said with some people they could not even download it on a 64-bit. Just wanting to know if anyone has had success with this. I want to download it on my laptop for the holidays so I can spend time with family easier. Thanks!

I have worked in the transcription field for quite a long time and I enjoy being able to work at home and the flexibility that affords me. I have worked for other transcription companies before MedQuist and found them to be about the same thing. We do get paid less than we used to, but that is industry wide. I try to look at it from the perspective of the money I save not driving back and forth to work, buying new clothes, etc. I also am lucky to work in a region with a really good supervisior and QA person, as well as the fact that my children are grown and out of the house. As far as ESL dictators, I have some but they are far better than ones I have had in the past elsewhere. I think it just depends on what accounts you are on, etc. I rarely have a problem with no jobs available like others here seem to, and it usually doesn't last very long. And no, I am not a suit or corporate, I am an at-home transcriptionist who all things considered is satisfied with my job at MedQuist. Good luck!

It does not work on 64-bit. I was stuck in a hotel for a week and could not work on my laptop because it is 64-bit.

I just got a new laptop, Windows 7 with 64 and had to find a 32. Does not work with 64. Hopefully soon it will, but not now. The 32 can be had, but of course, $$$$, that we are not reimbursed.... Happy Holidays!

DQS 6.1 does currently support 64bit Windows 7 and XP, but not Vista. Well, rather, it _may_ work on 64bit vista, but support won't support you on it. They'll be there for _moral_ support, but that is about it.

And, seriously, what nitwit support goon told you that your machine would be "too fast for DQS to handle?" That's kind of silly...

As an example, I am currently running DQS 6.1 on a Win7 64bit machine with no problems.

Is anyone still using the original Docuscribe? I have not downloaded the 6.1 or done the training yet as I was ill during the time we were told to download. Tech support told me there were lots of problems with it and not to download it just yet. My supervisor hasn't said anything about it. Probably 30+ minutes ago, I got a red light saying my connection was lost. However, I still had internet, going to multiple web sites, so I called the 1-800 number. I was told it was on my end, to shut everything down and re-start. I've done so multiple times with the same results - no problem with anything on the internet, but cannot log on Docuscribe. I finally found a tech to help me on this one after adjusting the brightness if there is anyone out there that HATES that blinding bright white screen. I adjusted the contrast to 5.8 and brightness to about 5.8. It tones it alll down quite a bit. You first click the minus button, then the first button on the monitor to increase or decrease. It kind of mellows down that bright white screen to a very light grey. ...

Found out the hard way just this week that download speed is now 2 mbp or greater, with fluency shutting down on uploads. When did this happen? I was treated as if it is my ISP that is below-par on speed, but had upped to a 1.5 mbp plan just for "Q" a year ago. Did my ISP just stop working well with Fluency, or did the "Q" once again cause issues without allowing its employees who are home-based to plan for them.
