Okay, here I go again. Time to start my shift and NJA. This is the second day in a row this week for me. Guess I will again be working second shift out of necessity and not choice. Looking for a second job but don't know how that is going to work since right now I do not have a "set" schedule with M-Modal. When I looked at my W-2, in the last 3 years my income has gone down by 1/2. OUCH!

Where is that magic genie? Where is that winning lottery ticket for me? HA! HA!

how do you not have a schedule? - curious

Jwondering how I can get around having a schedule. There is never work on my schedule anyway.

TSM says we may not "work at will" outside of our schedule to make up our hours - only the hours/days she tells us we may make it up, and that is usually never.

her, just do it. If she says something, tell her you will work a schedule when they give you work on your shift. It's not "work at will" it's "work when work is there."

if there isn't enough work to keep me working the whole time, I work when there is work. I have to support my family and I will do what it takes to do that. I have been working this way ever since MModal acquired Spheris and no one has squawked about it yet. I've been a little worried about it since my CCM was laid off and I got a new TSM, but so far not a squeak out of her either. If they fire me, I will collect unemployment and get a new job. Luckily, I also have an emergency fund in place that will keep me going for a few months, if need be. I would never put up with only getting a few hours of work a week, I would be gone from here in a heartbeat if that ever happens to me. I have a family relying on me to house, feed, and clothe them.

I am supposed to work 9 to 4 with an hour break for lunch and then 8 to 10, but my schedule is entered with the blue going from 9 to 9 like a 12 hour schedule, so it doesn't really cover my last hour. Then there are notes in there that state my hours; however, my old CCM got them wrong, and when I explained them to my new TSM she did nothing to change them, so technically, I can work anytime from 9 to 9 and my clock times match my schedule; however, I do try to stick to my regular schedule as much as possible, just in case someone throws a fit.

TSM one time how I was coming on a weekend day to help with late work, back when there was such a thing, and I told her that since they don't know how to schedule, there was and always has been late work on the weekend, so I would give up some of my weekday hours to help out. I was told I need to work my shift and was not allowed to switch my hours. I told her I had been doing that for the last year and a half and she is the one who signs my time sheet, so she should have known that. DUH!

I have been with this company for about 12 years and have only been told this on a few occasions and never lately. I have ran out of work for my shifts for the past 2 months or more, and I work whenever. I check frequently during my "scheduled time" but then I just keep checking until I get my hours in.

I have never been contacted and told what time to make up hours. I do remember a few emails in the past couple of years usually on the days Im off and dont see them until my next day to work, stating that the "work is picking up and now is the time to make up hours", but that is very rare.

do what you normally do, log in and see if there are jobs and work, except do it at a different time of day. Quite simple actually.

Meant to say because of lack of work, I am not able to work my set schedule on days and have had to alter it to make my line counts. Sorry for the confusion.

I pride myself on using ALL tools given us. I have ALWAYS been diligent in making my reports as perfect as possible. I ALWAYS researched terms new and not known, looking up old reports to help on unfamiliar hospitals and doctors. If I could transcribe (old term type) my reports I could easily do 300-500 lph, but I CANNOT get any of this type of work. I get 98% ASR. Lately it has become more than stupid!!! I am sick of hearing I was "given" 2 primary accounts, but never see them, and instead am getting accounts I have never seen before! I am so close to quitting this very minute.
