How come the change in dates for Orientation? - anontoo

I just re-read it to be sure ... the original email clearly states Orientation is March 24 and 25. That's ... Monday and Tuesday, isn't it? Why did they give people less than 24 hours' notice for a major change in dates?

"Orientation sessions will be held March 24 and March 25. You must participate in one of the virtual orientation sessions."

Apparently, those who received acceptances today said the notices said that Orientation starts "tomorrow" (Friday). No explanation.

Just wondering about the big unexpected change in Orientation dates.

While I am over the moon I was accepted, I can't help but feel really guilty and sad at the same time. I wish everyone could have gotten in that really wanted and needed this.

My life has been going absolutely nowhere for a while. I can't pay my mounting medical bills, housebound because I can't afford to run my car that has been sitting out back since June, can't afford any clothes, can't afford to take my cat to the vet, etc etc. I am sure I need not go on. I was getting really worried life was never going to get any better.

So I AM really grateful and happy. I hope this program really takes off and there will be more chances for people to move to coding if they want to. I intend to work my ass off and do my bit to make the pilot program a success.

how arrogant you are. No matter what you feel about this company you have to agree this is an amazing deal. someone paying you to retrain to a more lucrative skill. I cannot divulge the salary or other compensation but trust me it is well worth it.

My opinion is that this is not going to teach them anything but how to code for MModal.

Also it is a FACT that 1/2 of all coding students fail and of those remaining 1/2 fail the certification testing.

It's tough and some will fall. Those are facts.

The actual course hours are 3x the AAPC course, which is pretty much standard. There is also an internship, which counts.

That is more than a lot of coders have. Definitely not a crash course. It is not McCoding at all.

course who did it and passed her cert but she felt rushed because it was only 8 weeks. I think this is very thorough and well done. BTW that friend can't find a job because she has no experience. Another think M2 is providing.

It is my understanding that the trainees are expected to work 20 hours a week doing MT and 20 hours a week studying coding. I don't know if anyone realizes how difficult that is. I worked as an MT full-time while I completed my coding program, it took a year to finish. You are going to get bogged down in minutiae because that's how coding is. You will forget stuff. Then, you'll have to switch gears and go back to being an MT for 4 or 5 hours. I wish all of you luck because an internship is golden, but it is going to be extremely difficult working on their terms.

I'm close friends with someone who made it in. He divulged what they are starting him at and what he will be making after certification. Lets just say it is under $20. There is a cap on it and it isn't close to 30. The good thing I heard though, is that AAPC certification is from somewhere besides MModal.

You can only get AAPC certification from AAPC -- not MM, not anywhere else.

All MM is doings is offering a course that will teach a person what they need to know to pass the AAPC CPC test.

I'm kind of confused about this. Does a comma go after the date all the time? For example: LFTs from 10/23/2012, are within normal limits, or lab tests from 12/14/2011, are normal. I always put commas after the year when I worked at home. Now I work outside the home and I'm confused about it. Everything here is in a different format and I'm just not sure. More and more frequently, I am getting dictators who say, "the patient underwent the procedure IN 04/11/12" or "the patient underwent the procedure ON April 2012." It's just a little thing that's kind of annoying because you have to change the IN to ON and vice versa, but it's happening so often, I'm wondering if that's now an acceptable way to say it and I'm just not in the know. I am doing a lot of cancer clinic notes today (very long reports). They all have lots of dates in them due to the various tests and treatments the patients have had. This particular facility wants the dates typed out in XX/XX/XXXX fashion; however ASR types them out the long way, i.e., August 26, 2010, so I have to change them all to fit the client profile. It's rather annoying. I figured that ASR was supposed to be formatted to be in line with the different client profiles. ...

In my company we use ordinals in dates, example May 4th 2011. Would there be a comma after the 4th in the date like there is if it was May 4, 2011? I know that oridinals in dates is not encourage, but the client specs require us to put the dates as they dictate them. I have a few SH entries to insert dates - for example, ydl inserts yesterday's date using the long format (July 9, 2013). I have one little problem though and can't seem to figure it out. When I use the "%e" parameter, I get "July 9, 2013" with the extra space between the month and the day. Once the days roll over to double digits this is not a problem. The payroll calendar (that is shown in Enrich) shows the week start and end dates. The quarter in which a given week falls is highlighted by a different color for each quarter.
