Okay so I am going round and round with this. I understand that MQ will be using weekly figures to determine the submission rate. I understand how the submission rate is calculated but what I cannot figure out is how they determine what lines to pay the reduced amount on.

My super's comment was that you will be paid the rate on everything after the 10% (3-14 - 5-1) or 5% (after 5-1) that is sent to QA.

So, maybe one of you posters out there, who is not visual like me, can show me an example of this.

Say you do 10,000 lines in a week. You send 4 reports to QA and they contain a total of 1,200 hundred lines which is over the 10%. They just dock you on the 200 lines? What if 2 reports are ASR and two are transcribed, how do they determine what rate to pay you on, ASR or transcription? Is it the later reports that they look at once you have gone over the submission rate? I feel so thick headed about this!

Had a meeting and not much info was given. - EVERYONE IS CONFUSED.

Manager is supposed to get more information to let us know. What I do not understand is we were told if you type a 15 line report and have a blank for QA, you are deducted 3 cents for the 15 lines? But if you have a 100 line report with one QA marker, you are deducted 3 cents for those 100 lines?

You work M-F and let's say you get a total of 5000 lines during that time. Monday was a particularly bad day. You had 2 reports that day with a total of 400 lines and you had to send them to QA - that would be over the 5% rate. Does every line you type after that get paid at 0.03 less?? Nobody has been able to explain this.

I told my boss that it is not fair that you have one report with 200 lines and you are deducted versus one report with 10 lines. It should be just that line, 65 characters, but then again, MQ will have to hire ANOTHER Mathematician to figure it out.

Manager wrote down all our questions and will ask the BIG WIGS and then will get back to us.

As I understand it, you would get paid the 0.03 less for 150 lines. With 5000 total lines 5% would be 250 lines allowable for QA. Since you had 400 lines you exceeded this by 150 lines, thus 150 lines would be paid at the rate of 0.03 less. All your other lines would be paid at your normal rate.

Of course, I could be wrong!

I'm assume this has been mentioned before but have not read all the other posts. Notice you will be deducted 0.03 which is what MME's are paid for QA'ing. Obviously, once you exceed your "free" QA allotment, you're paying the MME to QA your work.

Sunday thru Saturday.....So in your example, if you had a bad day on Monday and then the rest of the week (ok, let's just say) you did well and made up for that, nothing would be deducted for that one bad day. It's 5% OVER your QA submission for that one entire week, only getting the subtracted .03 on the lines over that amount. Then, you start all over again the following Sunday.

I, too, have asked for an actual example but have yet to get one. I think it may perhaps be because they don't have one, and aren't sure themselves.

We deserve this info quickly, since this is now policy. Unless the whole thing blows up, which would not surprise me.

I called my supervisor and she told me this: If you type 10,000 lines during one week in the initial stage of FTR, then your QA submission limit is 10% or 1,000 lines for that week. OK... so if you send 4 notes to QA - the first one 500 lines, the second one 130 lines, the third one 300 lines (totalling 930 so far right?)... the next QA note you send has 400 lines putting you over your 10%. THAT note and ALL work that is SUBMITTED TO QA during that week BEYOND that note (not the first three) will be docked 3 cpl from whatever their usual rate is either ASR or trans.
Now this is just my understanding from a phone conversation with my supervisor. If you are still really concerned, call them. :D hope this was helpful.

I got a call from MQ regarding the amount of <skip> markers in my ASR reports. I was told that there shouldn't be more than 3 to 5 skip markers in any given report??? This sounded absolutely ABSURD to me and I told them to give a listen to some of the reports I edit and explain to me how exactly I am suppose to accomplish that! I was wondering why in the new 6.1 version, it takes more words to get an automatic S marker inserter (highlighting words then using the delete button). I used to have to count the words and if 5 or more, used to place the S marker. I wonder why now the difference. Since the new upgrade 3 days ago, the ASR reports are showing continuously these red non-s markers.... Annoying. And I don't hear in the report any lapses of time. My first report of the day was an ESL (typical for a Sunday when that's all I get). I had QA markers, but when I went to send the document, the QA box was already checked and I couldn't uncheck it. I didn't think another set of ears would have heard what I couldn't. Obviously this report went on to QA as I was given no choice. I had a few extremely difficult ESL dictations tonight and reluctantly sent them to QA, only to get them back with some of my QA markers listened to, and others left in the report. I thought they had to listen to ALL of the QA markers and either correct them or blank them? I thought we weren't supposed to send reports with QA markers in to the hospitals? Is this just the MME not doing their job, or something else? By the way, 99% of my QA markers were turned into blanks b ...

When a doctor uses markers at the beginning of each patient's dication in a recording, how can I access those in Express Scribe when listening to it? I have e-mailed the company twice, and the first reply was totally unrelated to my question. There was no reply to the second query. I am currently using the free dl version of ExpressScribe but would glady upgrade to the $30 version if I was sure I could access the markers. Thanks for any help! ...

I'm so confused. When OOW the most recent e-mail I had gotten said to clock out of production hours and back in under OOW for no more than 15 minutes as to not affect your line counts.... I am not seeing anywhere how to clock back in under OOW. I only see under tasks you can choose production, calls, etc. Can someone please explain how to do this so you aren't under production hours??
