Does MM have number of employees posted online somewhere? - curious

I was thinking it would be interesting to know how the numbers have changed in the last 5-10 years, looking at their employees in the US versus overseas. Does anyone know if there is a place to find this information?

Whatever is posted, is probably not true. They want to sugarcoat everything, especially to prospective clients. Nuance does the same thing. These companies wouldn't state the truth if their lives depended on it; this Chapter 11 is bogus as well. They don't want to pay their bills! What a rat hole!

Anyone else have an opinion - or preferably helpful input?

This info is not disclosed publicly. MModal is currently a private company owned by private equity.

MModal (and its medquist precursor) was only a public company for a few short years.

Their public filings from 2010 to late 2012 will show this info (link is below). You will want to look at the 10-Ks.

I can tell you that as of 2012, they had 85 quota-carrying sales guys.

At the beginning of 2012, they had 12,000 employees. 6300 in US, 5600 in india.

At the beginning of 2012, 79% of their transcription volumes were completed using ASR (this has likely increased since then; im guessing to the 80's).

At the beginning of 2012, 49% of transcription volumes was processed overseas (this is probably north of 50% now; and includes ASR).

There are no public disclosures for you to read post-2012.

that has Shaw as a panelist and I believe they say the approximate number of MTs for MM in that discussion but I can't remember, maybe 5000 in US? Sorry I can't remember. The panel discussion is very interesting itself if you watch it.

doesn't matter to you, the MT will fix it. So what it takes MY time, so what it throws me off when I'm half way through the report and realize I may have it wrong and have to leave the screen, relisten to the beginning of the dictation, and change it..What do you care doc? you make a crap ton more money than I do, so obviously your time is more important.. ...

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor. You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars. Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India. What a difference. They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years. I thought this was a really cute and interesting way to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Just to try to help any exasperated MTs out that are hesitant to leave the house for the work field. My stepson has a REAL at-home job and he loves it. He works for a company called New Corp, you can Google that. He works a real 40-hour per week schedule, although you can opt for part-time if you need to supplement MT income. Is this really true? I was already on the fence about it....I despise ADHI but at the same time realize having CMT could possibly help find a job and sometimes (rarely) get a CMT diff. Not to mention the test cost $300 whether you pass or not. So now you have to pay to pass the RMT? This can't be true. I mean, if you can pass the CMT you should be able to pass the RMT w/o having to PAY for it. ...
