1 little job in half an hour - Nana
Posted: Jan 24, 2013
13 jobs in 2 days. Love it! Make sure to put it in Remedy though so they can keep track and work later hours when jobs are there. Sorry, that's not an option for me.
me either, and they knew that when I was hired - scheduled for a reason

I have a schedule for a reason, yes it includes a weekend day, but I cannot just change my schedule because they gave my work away. I have had this schedule for years. There was ample work on my schedule always. They changed the game. HOrrible.
I have only 4 hours so far this week, with NO work today. - anon
Why cant they lay off those recently hired - or those not meeting line counts

Or something! I have only worked 5 hours this week! I am scheduled 25. How am I going to get 20 more hours with no work?
this is mind boggling - how can they?

I don't understand what is so hard for them to figure out about this situation. Aren't they like big business whiz kids? And they can't figure out a solution to this problem, either shifting the work or laying people off?
And even though no one has enough work, they are still hiring.... - FossilMT

See RB's post from 1/22 - in the hiring process and waiting for an offer from MM. And how do we meet line counts when there is no work?
I got a call trying to hire me this week! - anon

I posted my resume on several job search sites looking for something local, as my company was just bought out by Nuance. I have received 2 calls in 2 weeks from M*Modal!! I don't want to work for ANY big national, even if that means I go to work at 7-11 or McD's! So they are searching for MTs as I did NOT apply. What the heck is wrong with this picture? These companies make me SICK!

If I remember correctly didn't Kumar's group buy a lot of stock in MQ a few years ago and they made an agreement to ship him some work? I really don't feel like researching it, but he probably threatened MQ somehow and we have no choice. My weeks are numbered. I may have a part-time job lined up and make more than full time with this sorry company. If we do not as much work, why do we have a CCM, Quality Coach, district managers, regional managers, so forth. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else but we lowly MT's have ever taken a cut. It is too bad the IP's work for so low pay, they could get ugly and all want a raise. Then what. This company deserves to be screwed!!!
I believe they have moved much more work - to India in the last few days nm

"If you want to make up your time but can̢۪t make up your missed time the day it occurs in, you should submit a PTO request in Teamwork at the end of your scheduled shift for the missed hours with a comment letting me know if/when you plan to make up the time later in the week. Then, if you are able to make up the time and want to cancel the PTO request, you can submit a PTO cancellation request in Teamwork."
They cannot make us use our PTO time---love the way they think they can make us think they can.
All I am going to give them is a Remedy ticket with a cc emailed to myself with proof.
I didn't even clock in. I guess I have to fill out a remedy ticket at this point but I do not feel spending the day looking for work and not getting paid should be expected. I have family from out of town staying here for the weekend and they are leaving soon to go to lunch and then a movie. Because I was supposed to work I did not plan to go but sitting here and checking and not making any money seems stupid when I could be enjoying time with my family. The em ...
Hi:I am make incentive based on minutes, but I work on a system that lets me check how many lines and minutes I have typed in a day also.
Just in case I have to get another job based on lines, I wanted to know what is the average amount of lines per hour or per 8 hour shift.
Thanks for the advice in advance.

I know none of us get paid by the hour, but I was just wondering if any of you have ever figured out just how much you earn per hour, based on a 40-hour week. I'm just trying to figure out where I fit in. I seem to be earning $16-18/hour give or take based on how my week goes. ...
My transcription job was always paid by the hour. I was laid off and they recently offered me a temp position with them making $12.00 an hour. I was also offered a positon that pays 7.5 and 3.5 cpl. The $12.00 is employee status for a small local company I worked for over 9 years. The other is an IC position. Do you think I would make more with the $12.00 an hour or the per line production rate? I have never done production by line work so I'm not sur ...
Ive never not given a notice, but I interviewed today and might get the job. You all know the deal, I just can't afford to work here and they want to fill the position Im trying for immediately. Do you think after only 6 months, I have to give them a notice? If so, how much of one? It feels so wrong to just up and quit, but I can't pay my bills! Another 2 weeks, or even one just puts me further in the whole. I made more on unemployment! ...
Im loaded with work, over 400 jobs on the system and i just dont feel like doing it. How's that....sell off my work hahaha, act like MModal and let someone else do it for "half".

Dictated: and if he does okay, will send him home.
ASR: he had a dislocation of the long pants array.
So close ASR, so close!! American doctor, no accent, clear as day. But thanks for trying
If it was an occasional thing, I could understand but seems to be getting worse rather then better. ...

It’s those rose colored glasses I wear, I guess. Just trying to reach out and have an open dialogue about the future of our jobs and the way we’ve been treated.
If my posts irritate you, move on, but why attack? Couldn’t you use those language skills you have for something other than pooping in your own nest? Animals don’t even do that. I thought we were all in this together.

Why is it that MTs (especially the ones who are starting out) have the opportunity to transcribe dictated reports from doctors that sound half dead, like they are using their last breath to dictate a report? It's amazing to me when QA tells me that they can make out everything these doctors say.
What do the more seasoned MTs think about this? ...
explaining why I billed what I did on an invoice. This MD pays by the hour. He set the hourly wage and now I have to justify why it took as long as it did. This is a new physican whom I have worked for for only 2-3 weeks in a specialty that is new to me in a state I don't live in.
Anyone else ever have to do this? ...
Please explain someone. I am not getting time and a half from their calculations. By law it has to be. From my calculations and comparing to the old method, it is not time and a half. I'm very concerned with this. ...
Yeah, it came in like:
"Within the belfry San Francisco heated the tripod and pumpkin blazed with endometriosis...."
The WHOLE report didn't have three words consecutively that made the least bit of sense or had anything to do with what was dictated.
"Fix" it? You gotta be kidding. Wipe it out and transcribe as dictated, you mean. Oh, and here's your half line rate, thanks!
You SR transcription companies MAKE ME SICK.

My line count per hour in this new system is what I used to straight type an hour? I have been a transcriptionist a long time, makes no sense. I am so sick of this, its nauseating to be put through this degradation. ...
Just wondering what the rule of thumb is as far as what the company gets paid per line versus what they pay the MT per line. Is "half" the norm or considered "fair?" ...
