cutesy little snowflakes - a little annoyed

MT Stars admin, the cutesy little snowflakes are really adorable on the page, but gotta say it slows down every other open page on my computer, and while trying to work but have this page open to perhaps check on words or other posts, I just can't because the snowflakes slow everything down.

I really like the snowflakes, they are too cool for school, but maybe others are having this problem too?

When I have this page open in the background, my dictation for work won't even play. As soon as I exit out of this page it starts right up! LOL. I do LOVE the way it looks though so don't change a thing. I just have to keep logged out of this page while I'm working.

honestly, you shouldn't be logged into this website during working hours anyway.

1) Potential viruses and HIPAA violations- personal internet use should not be performed on the same computer as work functions, especially if computer is provided/owned by company.

2) Cuts deeply into productivity. I am not saying this applies to any of the above posters - but, it is a valid problem with many MTs. Many need to stop the FB, email, MT Stars, etc, etc, etc that they do during their "work" day. Many moan and groan about how little they are currently earning, but never stop and figure in how much time they waste on non-work activities on the computer or around their home.

Again, not aimed at OPs in any way, because I have no way of knowing how they spend their time.

...but you won't find me hopping websites while I'm working. Sorry, but that's ridiculous nonsense for workers under 40.

Let me tell you about how much time is wasted on - non-work activities

1. The fact that I have to check e-mail 3 times a day on production time that I do not get paid for.
2. The fact that I have to fill out ADT information that I do not get paid for.
3. The fact that I have to not only add an address line in the report for the referring physician and complete address, but I also have to add this physician and complete address to the cc line, all of which I do not get paid for, and dont forget that I have to spend my time verifying this information first because the doctors dont give the correct information and it is a HIPAA violation on me if it goes to the wrong place.
4. The fact that I have to e-mail the support people when I cant get a job to load that I do not get paid for.
5. The fact that I have to fill out a ticket anytime there is no work or other technical issues, which I do not get paid for.

THESE ARE A WASTE OF MY TIME!!!! Hope you dont mind my moaning and groaning about all the things that take away from my production.

They would not allow ANY searching on the internet and we would go back to books only! Any site can give you a virus, so even if you are looking up a drug on google, you can get a virus.

You can't catch a virus from a website. You have to interact with something to catch a virus.

Malware (which is not a virus) can enter your computer from certain sites, but you will never get a virus or malware from a legitimate site (i.e. google, amazon, etc.) as these are secured.

Just wanted to share that it's really pretty safe to surf. :)

Not to say that someone can't hack into your computer - as this has happened to me - but that is an issue separate from viruses or malware.

The snowflake situation seems to have gotten worse. There are more of them and I just lost the third or fourth post because of them. The cursor flies around to random parts of the page when one passes by and there is constant flashing. The "flakes" look more like real fast snails trailing down the screen than snow. There is literally a snail trail of distortion behind them. I don't think the snow works with all computers. ...

I think the straw that broke this camel's back was when someone suggested those of us with legitimate medical issues regarding the snowflakes leave until January.
