they are annoying when trying to read postings, and they slow down my system when trying to navigate the site from page to page, and my system is high-end and new. but if it makes every one else happy, fine. I just don't want to see them for the next 6 months. ty.

I have nasty strabismus and it really screws with my ability to focus my eyes on what I'm trying to read. If you read my post, it is not asking to have them turned off for everyone. In essence, I asked if there was a user setting to opt into or out of seeing them.

Having a steady stream of extraneous garbage falling down the screen is irritating, to say the least, and to be accused of being a "grinch" is BS and rude.

I think it is ridiculous to inflict something like this on everyone and then to be called names for saying something about it.

Some people on here are obviously extremely immature.

Would you call a wheelchair-bound person negative for asking for a ramp in addition to stairs? I agree they are cute, but they can cause real problems for some of us. That does not make us negative. I would adore them if they were restricted to the edges and not in front of the text I am trying to read.

MT Stars admin, the cutesy little snowflakes are really adorable on the page, but gotta say it slows down every other open page on my computer, and while trying to work but have this page open to perhaps check on words or other posts, I just can't because the snowflakes slow everything down. The snowflake situation seems to have gotten worse. There are more of them and I just lost the third or fourth post because of them. The cursor flies around to random parts of the page when one passes by and there is constant flashing. The "flakes" look more like real fast snails trailing down the screen than snow. There is literally a snail trail of distortion behind them. I don't think the snow works with all computers. ...

I think the straw that broke this camel's back was when someone suggested those of us with legitimate medical issues regarding the snowflakes leave until January.
