applying to New England Medical Transcription - frustrated

I am considering applying to NEMT. What kind of experiences has anyone had working with this company in the recent past?

I read the recent ad at another website and noted the mention of being able to change the work schedule daily??? When I worked there, my schedule wasn't at all flexible. In fact, there was a great deal of grunting from the account manager when I just mentioned the possibility. So, if you're thinking of applying, this is something that you might want to question and discuss at length and maybe get in writing. Good luck.

I'm going back to them next week! The only reason I left was because life circumstances changed, and I needed insurance. They are IC only. Great manager (my experience), IM system, built in expander, good platform (ChartNet), quarterly (small) bonuses for meeting accuracy level, straight transcription, fair wage, they remember you (with a small gift) at MT week and Christmas and send you a card on your birthday. I know that is trivial, but sometimes it's nice. I can't wait to go back. Great people!

It's an instant messege syste that they use called Big Ant. All workers/QA/account managers, etc. are on it, so if you have problems during your workday and need to ask a question, you can get a quick response. You leave it open while you work. HTH.

I started out with NEMT, left for a number of years and went back and stayed for 6-1/2 more years, I left again this past February for more money, that is the only reason..Everyone there was always nice and eager to help you move forward, the programs are great and if I ever left where I am now, I would ask to go back there! A very friendly, attentive, and great place to work! Good luck~!

Not sure what is up but find it odd with this company. I passed their tests and of course they send me paperwork to fill out as a new hire whjich I did. Get an email stating that the HR person would contact me to set up an interview. Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe? I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before. I answered an ad for U.S. Transcription posted on MT Jobs, was asked to test, and within an hour of submitting my test I was offered a job. After my heart came down from a happy dance at an actual job offer, I found I really have some things to think about before I say yes. I'm fairly new to medical transcription. I received my certification in 2010 and was a little discouraged when applying for jobs and they were all looking for experienced agents to work from home. I've recently decided to start back looking for work and decided to offer my services free of charge just to get the experience so I can apply in a year or two for actual paying work. Anyone ever do non-medical transcription? I'm interested to know if you liked it. I tried it for a few days and just decided it wasn't for me. A lot of it was phone conversations and was very hard to understand and I ended up leaving lots of blanks. The pay was bad too and I gave it up today.
