filing for underemployment due to pay cuts or lack of work

wondering....were you harassed by your employer afterwards? Please do not name companies as I don't want to put anyone on the spot here. Just asking as I am looking into this to file for my state and wondering how employers react to this. Thanks a bunch.

I was asked why by my supervisor, but - not one word after

I said, "I was not provided enough work to meet my scheduled hours, and cannot live on nothing."

I dont have to work 24 hours a day because they over-hired or gave our work away. Then, after you get unemployment, take your time finding another job, perhaps even out of MT.

my supe asked me about it, then said I was not eligible; I did - not reply, as I had already been approved. nm

Would certainly never ask your name, or the name of your company, but could you share a little more detail about what your workload should have been, what it was, and for how long?

I do not want you to give yourself away, but any more information that could be shared would be very valuable information for those who are in the same situation at the present time.

I do realize the rules will vary state by state, but please provide some sense of direction for us.

In my state, you just go on the unemployment website and when it asks why you aren't working, you get a drop-down menu. choices are I voluntarily quit, I was fired/discharged, and lack of work. I picked lack of work. they never said anything to me and it took about 6 weeks to get anything, but it was retroactive and just came in this week. I may lose my job but at this point, that would be fine with me. I'm also getting food stamps. who knew you could have a "full-time" job and get unemployment and food stamps in America. This sure is not the America I expected. I can't wait to find a job in another field, so sick of this. hope this helps.

don't wait. do it now. if everybody would do this at the first sign that it's going to become a pattern, maybe things would change. it would certainly shake up the employers. that's my only regret, I wasted a whole month staring at a computer with nothing to do before I finally got the guts to do something. do it sooner rather than later.

Wondering if anyone has thoughts on this subject. My state does allow filing for UNDERemployment due to wage cuts. However, in the past when my employer was bought out and wages were cut, I did not realize this was an option. If it should happen in the future, does the employee just decline the offer of a job from the new company and then is fired and then file for under-employment or take the job and file for under-employment? I doubt they would lay you off. Thanks ...

from doing editing work? I have been doing this now for about 3 years, and recently after about 2 hours into my work days I have started getting shooting pains in my hands and arms. I briefly looked over the website for unemployment in my state (Texas) and find it very confusing. Did you go to an office to do this? Also what info do I need to have available for filing? Believe me, I've been job hunting for 2+ years. I've had a couple of interviews but so far no hire. I'm almost to the point I would work in housekeeping just to get a steady job!!!!!! Turns out my weekly benefit is MORE than I was making at MM before I got laid off, at least recently. I'm guessing it's because I made more before and slowly but surely my pay kept going down down down. Apparently the UI benefit is based on an average of what you made all year or something. All I know is that by getting laid off, I am actually going to make much more than I did as of late. Isn't that a hoot. Good riddance M-Modal! ...

I have battled pain about eight years now and have hit a wall, can no longer work.
