Medical record summarizer

I'm wondering if anyone has actually done the testing for this company/job (for medical records summarizer). I applied and they sent me a packet and a test. They want me to review 45 pages of medical records and summarize it! This is all sketchy to me. They have an AOL email address, no company info, nothing. Not sure if this is a scam or what. ...

I'm trying to follow the path of a patient medical record. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. But here's my understanding: the doctor dictates (or inputs his data), then it goes to coding. From coding it goes to billing and from billing it goes to the designated payor (insurance company, medicare, etc). I have been corrected by QA twice on this one. The first time it was changed to capitals (Electronic Medical Record), so I started typing it that way. I know that transcriptionists at Veterans' Hospitals have used the EHR for years and it works really well at VA. Now it seems that you hear about it all the time, but every single description is different from every other one. Nobody seems to know anything. I have been doing transcription for 15 years. My youngest daughter got into some trouble as a teen and has a record. She is having a hard time finding work in our rural community.
