I have LOVED being an MT on site & at home - IMTNMT2

I started at a hospital 2/14/94, orientation. They gave me a Valentine cookie. It struck me then as a very nice touch. It has just been an amazing experience/opportunity. Especially working at home and raising my kids. We weren't rich or well off but I've so enjoyed it and really was proud of what I did. And that confidence in myself and my capabilities and the independence that MT gave me has extended over onto my children and has influenced them in a completely positive way and they are going to do better than me, which is every parents desire. Whatever I do for the next 20 years hopefully I can do it from home some if not all of the time.

Just wanted to let you know I sent you a private e-mail on what I am doing at home to supplement my MT income as you mentioned you were hoping to do something new from home. I am an MT for 18 years seeing the signs and trying to do something else from home. Good luck! And anyone else who wants to know what I am doing, send me an e-mail. In times past I loved being an MT being it became - a mommy job at home

back when times were really good and the money was excellent. I worked inhouse and eventually sent home and then outsourced to a company, not the hospital anymore. I was able to raise a family with my income. I sure could never do that now. Times were good as in the past.

Now I understand how there were glowing reports of being happy and making good money. Welcome to the way acute care works ambulatory folks. We have a pool of accounts and reports come in with the one closest to turnaroundtime first. No picking or choosing what you transcribe or edit. A long time ago before my computer crashed I used to have a website I went to often if I could only make out a few letters in a medication and if those were in the middle of the drug. Example - if the drug was Sandostatin and I could only make out "and" or "stat", I'd type in and or stat and the site would bring up all drugs with those letters in them.
