WMX/Nuance equipment refund - sm

Posted: Jul 01, 2011

Am waiting for return shipping instructions and thought... hum, wonder if there are going to be any problems getting my refund?   I know the acquisition has just recently taken place, but has anyone dealt with this issue yet?  My luck Nuance will say they are not refunding money that Webmedx owes.  Figure I will get ^*^*^* one more time before I get out of there totally.

I have waited 3 weeks now from return of equipment...also how to get a reference or verification of dates of employment comes to mind.

I left a long time ago but it took 9 weeks to get - me

my $300. E-mails and phone calls went unanswered. I gave it 3 weeks before I started calling because I thought maybe IT had to check it out to be sure it was in working order and that it was in fact their computer.

I just quit but am waiting to get directions on what to return. I did read that we had to return it with THEIR return authorized label or we would not get a refund. My deposit was only $125 so not that much to lose, but it would still be nice to get it back! Just got my last check and PTO and it was HORRIBLE. Their pay cuts just really ate up my check!

Too bad it was direct deposit and not a paper check. It might have been more vauable to me to use it to light a string of firecrackers for the Fourth. Not up to speed yet on the new job, but I am sooooo glad to be out of there.

at least you got your PTO, mine was just ignored.

Wow! I can't believe that there are companies who charge deposits for their equipment. I would never work for someone who does that. That would be a red flag for me right off the bat. Hope everything gets straightened out soon for you. :)

My experience was well before the Nuance buyout (last summer), but I had a heck of a time. The HR person would not return my calls when I followed up after I had the confirmation of delivery and knew they had it back. After 2 weeks, I finally emailed the president, vice-president (you know, all the people on those cheerleading emails), the HR person (who had refused to respond to my email or voice mail), my team lead all at the same time 2 weeks later and told them that if I could not get my refund or at least an answer as to the status, I considered it theft; that they only allowed me so many days to return the equipment in order to get my refund - I met their terms and I expected them to meet their obligation immediately - I received my refund via overnight mail the next day.

This is a good example of where they tried to take advantage of you until they found out they could not, or the little guys were incompetent until the people higher up in the chain got on them, per your notification.

None of us should settle for giving up. Go up the chain of command and then remind them that you can and will take further action if they do not respond.

Many years ago I had the misfortune of working for MQ. Back in those days, there were actual MQ offices in large cities and there was one in mine, to which I returned their computer when I quit. About three weeks later I received a letter from the Q telling me they were going to SUE me for not returning their computer! I had had the foresight to obtain a written receipt for it, so I faxed that to them along with the message that if I ever heard anything further from them about this, they would be hearing from MY legal counsel. I never heard another peep.

I too worked for the Q and while I was not near a large city, received notification 6 months after I returned the equipment that I too, would be sued. Kept the tracking info and forwarded them copies and also mailed copies to NJ with postage due. (silly me, forgot to put my return address on the envelope, the Q had to pay for it).

The same thing happened to me in 2006, although I was a remote employee and it had taken me about 2 months to get MQ to send UPS to pick up the equipment. Several weeks later, I received a certified letter from them, threatening legal action if I did not return the equipment immediately. I was so glad that I had kept that UPS pickup receipt.

I see that there are more of us out there that share this same sort of experience with MQ than I originally thought.

Maybe karma will catch up to all the greedy company owners involved in this fiasco...maybe Nuance will bring J and S on board and they can run that company into the ground.

Purchasing Equipment Through Nuance

Mt Equipment
Apr 13, 2011

I have been doing outpatient surgery reports for a small hospital for four years.  They are outsourcing with a company that does voice recognition.  The ophthalmologist has talked to the OR manager and wants to use me for some other transcription (the hospital pays for what he does there).  I need to know the cheapest and best route to go since I only have computers, printers, and an Infinity foot pedal, as well as two transcribers that use microcassette tapes.  In order to p ...

All This Equipment We Have To Buy
Feb 16, 2014

why do they keep gouging us for this crap even though it should be painfully obvious to anyone with half a brain that your average MT has hardly any money for it? Amphion had told me that my workstation was not up to snuff, and after they specified what I needed, they told me *where to buy it*. I ended up sinking almost 300 bucks into it. Then, after working there for a couple weeks, they micromanaged me intensely, and after a performance review where I missed the mark by probably about a fra ...

Trouble With MQ Regarding Equipment
Oct 12, 2009

Hi everyone. I am having trouble with MQ regarding equipment and I'm hoping someone could maybe help me out here. I used to work for MQ and had returned my equipment after leaving. I was re-hired a few months later, but used my own equipment, therefore, never took anything back or received anything from them again. The returned equipment was returned over a year ago and I no longer have the receipt from UPS, as I never heard anything and had no reason to think there was a problem. Any ...

Returning Equipment To MQ
Apr 29, 2010

Recently resigned from MQ and received the mailing labels to ship back their computer and monitor.  However, per the letter, they don't require that you return the mouse, keyboard, and any other peripherals.  It doesn't say you will be charged for them -- it just says they want the computer and monitor. ADVISE ON EQUIPMENT
Sep 17, 2010

Hello, Can someone please tell me the best digital transcription machine to buy. I really do not know anything about digital transcribers. I am used to the cassette transcriber. Also, I heard there was a way to have a 1-800 number and the doctor can call that number and do the dictation over voicemail. Does that require any other software or equipment. I am not familiar with any of this. I guess I just really need to know the different ways I can do transcription. Thanks ...
