United Transcription - information on this company? - Fatigued Fingers

Does anybody have information on this company? I had an invitation to test with them.

I have been working for them several months. Plenty of work, straight typing. A LOT of ESLs, but not bad. They are a company that seems to want to "keep in touch" with their employees and I have even had the vice-president call me on the phone and discuss any concerns that I may have. In addition, a few days ago, I received a birthday card from them in the mail.

When I tested with them, I left a NUMBER of blanks; however, this is what they want. They do not want their MTs to guess, and prefer that blanks be left. Good luck!

Cool, sounds good. One of their files refused to play for me. I hope that doesn't count against me. The rest of them were fairly easy.

Not sure why the file wouldn't play. I use Bytescribe and maybe if you use Express Scribe, could have been something in the settings. I know that when the tech for the company was installing my software when I first started and even recently, when I got a Windows 8.1 computer, she kept mentioning Express Scribe, and I told her I used something else to play the files on -- keeping my fingers crossed for you, because I really find them to be a wonderful company.

One thing too, that I forgot to mention, is they do have several accounts. Once you are "up to speed," you will be placed on several accounts, but it's not a nightmare. The account specs and samples of different docs are readily available and the platform is extremely easy and Word-based. With having my new computer, with 8.1, I was able to install Word 2003 and Word 2007, and right now, using 2003.

Again, no set schedule, just get in there and do the lines that you would like to do :)

I took the test today and I also left a number of blanks on the test. I hope they call me. For some reason, I have a good feel for this company. I got three offers, but this is the test I felt compelled to take first. Keep your fingers crossed for me as well!!!!

do they require a weekend day, hunting work with no weekend days required.

They would like you to at least work a couple of the hours on the weekend in order for TAT to be met. You are going to find EXTREMELY few transcription jobs, that are M-F.

. . . so we'll see. I don't particularly like that they give you a choice of set shifts, even as an IC, which is what I want, because I have to juggle my work with another job as a travel agent. However, I HAVE to have at least 1000 lines a day to keep me going between commissions. I usually work in the evenings and early in the morning and I have no problem with TAT. I don't need to be babysat and held to a set schedule, since I have been doing this for 20 ...

They're supposed to send transcription test today. It's been a few wks since I applied so forget what ad said. Found some posts in archives and somewhat concerned. One said they use "tests" to get actual work done, hired but never heard from again, another said scam (from 2006), pay 7.5 cents for 17 yrs of exp with clunky platform, and so on. But also looks like there are few different companies with same name. Already make over 7.5 cents so not interested in doing their test if that&# ...
