Testing for Radiology at Inscribe - Suzy Q

Posted: Jan 18, 2012

Has anybody taken the Radiology testing for Inscribe??? Very long and very thorough. If you don't know MRI or total body bone scan, you might as well forget this test. I had a headache after I finished. Anybody else doing this????

No, but.. - 14YrRadMT

After reading your post, I looked into InScribe. With 14 years of rad experience, I was quite interested.

Unfortunately, the Applicant Portal says that they are not accepting rad applications at this time. So consider yourself lucky... Was there an ad placed somewhere that I missed?

No, you did not miss anything. - Suzy Q

I just went ahead and did the test, thinking that maybe in the future, I might be considered. Oh well whatever works, LOL.

Well, not to burst your bubble, but - 14YrRadMT

If you read their website, InScribe's deal is to enroll students in their "online university" to learn MT and then hire them upon graduation. Since rad is an easy specialty to start on, I wonder how many "nongrads" they would be recruiting/hiring.

In reply to Inscribe testing. Inscribe is a very nice company and the comment about testing only to enroll in their online uinversity is not accurate. I worked there for 6 months recently, but could not keep 2 jobs so I had to leave Inscribe. I did not attend their university. I was hired because I was able to pass the test. I am Acute Care not Radiology. I wished I would have chose Inscribe instead. At least Inscribe has an online university. How many companies offer that one? Also, if you check how they charge their students you will see how nice they are. More than I can say of the online school I graduated from 5 years ago.

Why if your acute care, would you consider going to some place where you have to pay after passing their test? Makes no sense to me.

forgive me, but what Rad transcriptionist would NOT know MRI, - bone scans...?

Reading this board on a daily basis just makes me smile and know my job is safe. And people wonder why they never hear back from companies.

I would not hire any radiology MT who could not do MRI or total body bone scans. That is part of the required knowledge base.

Of course it is. Not arguing about this. - Suzy Q

I very well know that MRIs and Bone scans are included. I just have not done these tests in quite a few years, so it was kind of hard at first. But it is like riding a bicycle, once you learn, you never forget, right?????

as though they have a very complicated application process.  Just reading the instructions had me cross-eyed.  Also, in addition to the written test, application, they also  WANT 6 VOICE FILES TRANSCRIBED for their testing??  This seems a bit excessive to me... esp. since they have not given any details re. their pay rate, etc. ...

Radiology Pay?

I have been working acute care for the last 5 years and getting paid by the line.  I haven't done radiology in a few years, and when I was working in radiology I always got paid by the hour.  Now a local hospital is interested in my helping them out on the weekends with their radiology backlog, and are wanting to pay by report, but I have no idea what the average pay per report should be.  Can someone give some idea as to what I should be asking for?  Thanks ...

What's So Different About Radiology?
Jul 27, 2013

I'm wondering why radiology seems to be its own separate entity in the MT world.  It seems like if you know radiology, they'll bend over backwards to hire you.  I've done radiology before, just as part of my regular MT pool.  I don't get what's so "special" about it.  Does it have it's own quirky platform or something? ...
