Take my advice about MTSO Christmas gifts - Knowing
Posted: Dec 19, 2009
If you don’t expect anything, you will never be disappointed. People, you are not little children. Grow up. If you get a Merry Christmas, that should be enough.

What makes you think many of us even GET a "merry" Christmas? This year I don't even have the money to give my kid any presents! My finances have been horrible for the last 6 months due to my job. God forbid I should expect a thing in return for working EVERY holiday EVERY year! So while those of us work the holiday without even a pat on the head from our MTSO are toiling away, much less a thanks from the coworkers who don't have to work because I volunteered - the rest of YOU enjoy YOUR merry Christmas.

sentence. I personally have no idea why all these people hanging on for dear life while suffering so much with lack of work, no work, low pay, no pay, seems like a lost cause to me. Oh, I worked Thanksgiving, volunteered and also said I would work Christmas if need but higherup said would have another work as I took Thanksgiving.

Perhaps she's just indulging in some "Christmas Cheer" - RubyTuesday
Ah, more power to her if she has...If I weren't working right now, some "Christmas cheer" in the form of some Mexican or Irish Coffee would sure hit the spot in this cold, lol!

volunteered and, so? Other people volunteer, I did because 1 thing is Thanksgiving not that big a deal for me and for Christmas because others might have small children they want to spend time with. No big deal to volunteer as far as I am concerned.

every holiday and our supes don't care about dividing holidays evenly. The same people are off every year. What do they care? The office is closed, every holiday is a holiday for them.
The reason so many of us are stuck is because, if you haven't noticed, getting an interview for another job is difficult due to the many resumes received for each position advertised.
Have some compassion. Maybe you've had a decent year, but a lot of us are drowning in our bills and no, this won't be a "merry" Christmas.

Perhaps the slow down was a precursor to the current economical crisis, in that MANY industries are in financial straits right now due to the increase usage of off-shoring.
I took your post to be inferring it was the MTs own fault if she had to work a holiday or was having to struggle financially; I hope I was wrong, because (1) you would in all likelihood be wrong and (2) that would be an uncalled for and unnecessarily catty comment.
Happy Yule.

Saw noooothing wrong with that post. Scrooge, Oh my goodness. Someone does something good and WHAM, shame shame
I find most of your posts completely unintelligible - Too "out there" for me

No clue what that post means or what the "something good" you're referring to is. Maybe it's just me but I always find your posts disjointed and out of context, like they're in "code" or something.
I think I'm gonna skip your posts from now on...Too much trouble to try to interpret them and I have the feeling deciphering them might not be worth the effort.
Maybe editing all day makes all of us a bit unintelligible and we're starting to post like the reports we edit all day.
I sincerely doubt that the company big shots are reading the postings here, plus the anonymity wouldn't make your thank you mean much. I would think it more appropriate to send a handwritten thank you note, which is what I used to do when I worked for TransTech.
I'm glad your comany sends you gifts. In this day and age, most of us are just lucky to have a job. Still, it kinda rubs it in to those of us who work for Scrooge companies who treat us like piece worker ...

Personally not expecting anything, just curious if anyone else was lucky. Last year we got a cookbook compiled by various people in the company that we got to print off ourselves. Don't think they can top that. However, on the upside this company keeps me in work and pays well. I can't complain, or at least I shouldn't. Let's hear it from anyone who did get or will be getting a little momento in the spirit of gift giving. ...
I'm wondering with all these little trinkets sent, or not....with all the little games throughout the week, why is it we don't hear a peep out in the "real world" about MT week? It was established in 1985, but nowhere except on the AHDI website is it being promoted. Type "national transcription week" in google and click pn search news, and the only things that come up are about how clients are trying to cut costs (usually by eliminating us). Click on search the web, a ...
My company sent out the coolest gifts ever! Kind of hard to describe, but they are made from real license plates from the state we live in. They are folded over to make a book and one holds photos and the other CD's.
I feel so appreciated!!! ...
I just do not think its professional to send out emails regarding gifts for a baby. If so many people asked why not just send them an email via their own personal email or a phone call. Why do we all have to know where we can register for gifts. They are not so employee friendly with us in other ways. Think about it. ...
I've been reading these posts about the trinket trash as one person called it (good name) that MTs are receiving from their employers. My employer sent nothing, which if you think about it is less insulting than some of the garbage that has been sent out.
The whole issue reminded me of something, I couldn't think what, until it finally dawned on me. It's like the white man giving the Native Americans trinkets and baubles for their assistance or their land or the ...
All of these people on here complaining about whether or not they are getting a Christmas bonus need to get a grip! I would be extremely happy if the company I work for (or did at least until Friday when I quit) would just send my freaking paycheck! Sorry, you guys, this has really put a damper on my Christmas spirit because I have done the job, worked my fingers to the bone and now can't get paid for it. ...
I was just wondering if anyone requested Christmas off yet? I tried to request it the other day and it wouldn't let me???
It kind of has me worried. ...
I noticed that none of the jobs I submitted to last week are in FIESA yet. Did QC get off last week? I thought they followed the same OOW procedures the MLS do (if there's work and you are scheduled, you work, if there isn't any work, you flex or don't work). ...
First, I hope those of you who need to hear this will. I am not by any means saying what I am to hurt anyones feelings, to be mean, to start a ruckus, as a means of causing some to say hateful things, or to seem "better than." This, however, is something that those of you looking for work and unable to find a position, need to hear.
I recently had an opening for a transcriptionist for my very small buisness and recieved many, many resumes. Some were wonderful and I wish I coul ...
So what do you think we'll get as a Christmas present this year? A new mouse pad, an envelope opener, perhaps a pencil with the Medquist logo on it, an eraser maybe? Oh, the possibilities are endless!! I'm sooooo excited, I just can't wait! After all, we know how much Medquist appreciates us by the way they treat us! Oh wait, I forgot, there have never been even cost of living raises let alone merit raises. Oh wait, I forgot ...
Of all the MQ employees here scheduled to work on Saturdays, has anyone been approved to have off Christmas Day? I put in my request exactly 60 days ahead of time (since we can't do it before that) and have yet to hear anything. My CCM, who is pretty good about responding to e-mails, has not responded to me when I questioned whether I've been approved.
So, my question is, has ANYONE gotten the OK to take off Christmas?

In the spirit of Christmas, I just want to post something positive here. I have had an up and down rollercoaster year with the Q (as usual), but still in spite of it all (worry, frustration, financial woes over pay cuts, and even tears at times), I truly feel grateful that I am employed and have a job in these terrible times when so many are without. It is far from a perfect job, but it is a job nonetheless.
I hope that everyone has an even better year in 2011 & a ...

Does anyone know if Christmas is actually on Sunday at Webmedx this year (last year it was on Friday instead of Saturday so the office staff could get the holiday time off)? Will we be paid our holiday time for Christmas or does the 25% differential go into effect before then? My mind is confused with all of these different dates and not really having anything in writing to go by. ...
It amazes me that we are getting no bonus gift card or anything for Christmas this year. We are owned by a "global corporation." My son works for a large established country club golf course part-time, has been with them for 2 years and got a $100.00 bonus. ...
Do any of you fellow MT's remember the Christmas gifts we used to get here at MQ? Who can forget the lovely mouse pad, worth probably 5 cents. Oh, but wait . . . don't forget the chapstick . . . what was it, on a chain, I believe? How would they EVER be able to top THAT? Guess that's why we won't be getting anything this year. Too hard to come up with something bigger and better than THAT! LOL How I miss the days when this was&nb ...
I just realized this is the first year with no Christmas card or gift card from our employer since Nuance took over. After all these changes, I would think we deserved something other than a decrease in pay. ...
My Christmas wish for all of us is that we find great companies to work for and definitely make more money. (I believe in the tooth fairy and Easter bunny too!).
Happy and healthy holidays to everyone. ...
