TTS discriminates against the disabled - Lolo
Posted: May 07, 2014
Never disclose a disability to an employer no matter what. TTS fires and refuses to hire people with disability and then finds a lame excuse to cover it up. BEWARE!
They all do -- Nuance and MModal being the worst - nn

Couldn't keep up with their darned VR/LPH requirements because I have to use my mouse due to my disability and was fired from Nuance because of that. These employers do NOT understand that there are those of us with disabilities and in order for us to work, some accommodations have to be made as well as in their darned LPH requirements
you know, it's not right. But...how did they find out? - did it get in the way of your

job performance, or become an excuse for anything job related?
It's none of their business. Never say anything about it to any company you'll never see and they won't have that to use. These companies are run horribly and there's no control over them to keep them in line.
I would talk to a lawyer...

They wondered why my production was down with the VR. Because of my right side being spastic, due to CP, I had to use my mouse, as I had a hard time being able to use the keyboard combinations they suggested to edit with. I'm fine with typing as I have my own style, but just have an extremely difficult time with editing because of that.
Also, NONE of these companies that are in employee status have you fill out any kind of form with regard to the ADA or EEO -- so for that, I would think they would be in violation.
What about the ADA? I had an MTSO - try to terminate me because -

I got migraines, and sometimes had to stop work and go lie down in a dark room. I always made up the time. When I was threatened, I talked with an attorney about it and she said out-of-control migraines are a legal disability, and that if they continued to threaten me, I could sue their.... "posterior region."
they also fire you if you need to be off for surgery - no name

I gave my notice a few days before surgery like they suggested you do, and let me go days later giving some excuse about poor quality. I had gotten reviews of 99% and 100% 7 times before in a row and now I am fired?
they also canceled my insurance that very day, which i always thought you had till the end of the month you were fired in. its obvious why they did it. wanted to keep insurance costs down.
oh well, it was a blessing in disguise.
You need to report them, OTI was sued for this exact same thing - sm

You need to contact the EEOC or an attorney if you have a disability and your company is practicing any kind of discrimination at all.
This was a few years back, but OTI was sued by the EEOC for discrimination and being in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you want to read about the details, just Google either "Oracle Transcription EEOC" or "Oracle Transcription ADA"
Previous employer stated in the contract that spaces, bold, etc were paid for in a 65-character line. Come to find out the version of Word 2003 cannot be used because the space bar does not work because he obvious disabled it so that it did not count spaces. When I worked there we worked in word. Does anyone know how to get this fixed? I get so sick of these companies skiming off of the line counts. ...
Using SH10, Word 2010 & 2013, Windows 8. Was working last night. Went to bed and today it will not work. License does not expire until November. Have been using SH10 with both Word 2010 and Word 2013 on this computer for almost two years now. No problems until this morning. I have tried reebooting, opening SH10 and clicking "Hide" while Word is open, uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing. I sure don't want to have to do without it. My ...
I am attempting to take the SoftScript acute-care test and have received 2 separate links to the online test, which seems to have a drop-down feature for their multiple-choice questions. However, the drop-downs don't work (I've tried accessing the test using several web browsers), and when I right click on the test, I get the message "Function Disabled." Has anyone had the same problem, and, if so, what was your solution? Thanks in advance for any ideas. ...
