How come all their so-called 'new' accounts have no first shift work, but everything has 2nd and 3rd shift? Then they say you have to work full time, 40 hours per week, and they will give you school reimbursement. Which translates to me that you have to maintain a huge linecount and work over 8 hours a day, then work 4 holidays a year. This leaves time for school and study? Don't think so. Don't quit your day job...or maybe have time to go to school in the daytime.

Means they have their own people doing "normal" hours - ??

Or are they using other foreign countries for daytime. Strange how every service is always in need of 2nd and 3rd shifts and want to pay you pennies to ruin your bodies and your life and not even get compensation.

Like most mt services these days, first shift is a popular shift so they already have 1st shift people in place. And being that coverage is 24/7, then the most need is for 2nd and 3rd shift.

They offer a differential for 3rd shift - 3rd shifter

In the past people often had to start on 2nd or 3rd shift and work their way into the prized first shift positions. Over the years more and more new MTs have come on wanting that shift right off the bat. Of course we all do. Makes for better family time. I think it is great if they are allowing their present employees to bump up to the cherry shifts rather than hire new employees for them. JMHO

concerned about companies that offer equipment esecially a hard drive?

When I woked for Edix/Spheris, I found out that they were stealing lines from us. We were using their equipment.

When they merged with Datalogix and took over their accounts. You sent all the work to their office and it broke down lines their way. The hospital account had 5 demographic lines and 1 hidden line for the work type and we would add 6 lines for every document, but when they took over,the transcriptionist got 1 line! Funny how the computers have helped MTSOs.

I never see any part-time ads either. I wonder if they sm - Curious

only have FT employees. I wouldn't mind working in the evening if it was only for 4-6 hours or so.

Is it just me, or are the accounts being messed with AGAIN? I haven't gotten much work on my primary in a while and I'm just sick of switching back and forth, every other report to different accounts and reviewing the specs, get that in my head and then voila! the next report is yet another account and then I have to hunt those specs up. I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good. One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? For example, right now I am able to work a regular 2nd shift position with no problem (I currently work 2nd shift and prefer it to other shifts), but when school starts my kids will have sports and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and I have to take them to their meetings. First the dire email: Mandatory OT by end of week with at least 2 hours on Saturday. Just forget if you had plans for the weekend. Say what time you will be working and have to work those hours and put who okay'd those hours on your timesheet (you might lie you know). So you do that because you want to help the company out and it's nice to have OT again. Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies? I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago. They are paying me .7 cpl, no flexibility unless per-diem and then per-diems still have to work 2 holidays a year, lots of vaca time but can't use 2 weeks in the summer until I've been there 10 years, management impossible to get response from regarding any type of question, just got thrown into weekend rotation, etc. After looking at boards I see th ...
