I thought I would let everyone know the experience I had with NEMT. I have never had an experience quite like this one. Do not assume when you are hired that you HAVE the job. I was hired as an IC MT for NEMT. I started my orientation, which is basically training, not this last Monday but the Monday before. You get on at 7 am cst and stay on until 1 pm cst. You have to have a minimum of 5 reports during that time, which was not possible except for one day. I was limited to progress notes and consults for the orientation period. To get out of orientation you have to have at least 98% accuracy. At the end of the first week, I did not have a 98% accuracy so I was retained for another week of orientation. I go through another week of orientation. I was audited and had a 97.7% accuracy score. I was told 98% was required, and I would receive a call from human resources, which I did, and I was let go after 2 weeks. May I add, the QA is VERY strict. I have never had this issue anywhere else. I have never been hired and then let go in 2 weeks due to being short 0.3%. I know they have rules. That is fine. Obviously, I was not up to their standards. Unfortunately, this was the icing on the cake for me as far as this profession goes. I am getting out. I had already said I would go back to college in the fall. This just strengthened my decision to do that. I don't think I will even look for a another job in MT. I will do some other work until I start school in August this year. I am eligible for grants and school loans. I am out of this joke of a profession.
