Medscribes-Louisville, KY - latebloomer

Anyone who currently works at Medscribes: Concerning Medscribes-Louisville, KY recent job post hours.

What are they meaning with the Mon-Fri, 1/2 shift on weekend.  Do they expect if you do a M-F shift you also work 1/2 a day's shift either Sat or Sun, technically working 6 days a week?  Am I understanding this correctly?  Thanks a heap and a bunch!

I work for them and they had mentioned something about possibly changing my schedule to work full days TWTF and half days on Monday and Saturday. I came from one of the "big" companies and this company is so completely different. They are nice and let you know you're doing a good job. During the holidays, I only ran out of work for 2 hours on New Year's Day. It's straight typing, but that's what I prefer.

A few questions. Do you have enough work? Is it all VR editing? thanks. NmNm - Oldie

Hi I was wondering how you felt when you first started for Medscribe, this is my first week with them and they are super nice, but I feel like a newbie, like my work is being picked over with a magnifying glass. I have always been an exception transcriptionist and get released from QA within days, just wondering how your first few weeks were with them.

I don't get what the big deal is about working a half a day on a weekend day. These are, I believe, IC positions. (I worked there for a brief period of time last year and left due to constant hounding via Instant Messenger by the staff in India). Hospitals operate 24/7/365 and yes, weekend coverage is expected as well. Possibly, you could do some sort of a split shift, getting up early on Saturday, having family time, and then finishing the remainder of your shift that night. Four hours really isn't a heck of a lot of time.

I believe my question was do they expect you to work 6 days a week. I do not believe my post was complaining about working weekends. When it is posted M-F with 1/2 shift on Sat/Sun, it appears they expect you to do the M-F shift with one day 1/2 your shift and the other half on Sat or Sun. That was my question. I have no issue with weekends but I do with having hours 6 days a week.

That is a question that maybe you could ask the recruiter - nn

I have no clue as to the answer to that. The positions are IC. However, I know from past experience with other companies and not this one, that if no one works on the weekends, then the work gets out of TAT, the client gets unhappy, and as a result, the work goes to another service.

I have been an IC for many years, and I have always worked M-F and at least 3-4 hours on the weekends, if not more, so I really cannot answer your question in that regard. Perhaps, you could work a few hours on the weekend to help keep the account in TAT, or you could take a day during the week "off" and work one day during the weekend.

I ran out of work a lot, but they were okay other than - sm

the constant instant messaging from the staff in India. Yes, you read that right, INDIA! They messaged me nonstop, even when it wasn't my scheduled shift.

Mediscribes Based In Louisville? Right ;)
Feb 27, 2014

There may be one staff member in Louisville, but it's Indian owned.  Dig a little deeper. That's your first red flag.  Your second red flag is the knowledge that last summer, once the US labor passed QA for Mediscribes, they immediately switched to their own Indian labor immediately afterwards, admitting freely that US labor on the account had done nothing wrong, QA wise or productivity wise.  None of the 22 US laborers were given new ...
