Well, Just got a letter from corp saying the offer they sent us is contingent upon Medquist's buy, so it's still undetermined. I'm tired of waiting already

Not saying that I am looking "forward" to working for MedQuist at all. Been reading the forum here, and it doesn'the look like it's the best place to be, or that we are wanted. I'm just tired of the not knowing. I'm delusionally "hoping" that since we are bringing our own accounts with us, that our jobs will stay the same, and we won't be turned completely upside down, that's all.

From the documents Medquist sent, fortunately, it looks like things will stay pretty much the same for a while anyway, even our pay periods remain the same. Having to start over building up PTO sucks, but getting paid on Holidays again will be nice I guess. Not much difference in insurance benefits which are pitiful at both companies.

I don't think we will notice much of a change for a while, but I'm still hoping someone better wins the bid.

That is what we thought when CBay bought MQ 3 years ago. Now, but the end of this year, 80% of our work will be offshored, and I should say that is the 80% remaining. Quite a bite had already been handed over last year.

I would say for about 3 years you might be safe, as far as a job, but seriously, changes will be coming drastically.

You know, we are docked pay for anything over 5% submitted to QA by 3 cents a line, so if you make 10 cpl, you are now down to 7.

Not only that, the Q wants 100% TAT and that means sitting for extended periods of time with no work.

The QA department has recently gone insane wtih nitpicking and are marking style preferences wrong on audits.

Your accounts will rapidly be swallowed by all the little Indians standing in line to get their free lunch and foot rubs.

we have a QA% too, but I think it is 7%, so that's not new for us. I don'the think TAT and "sitting around waiting for jobs" will be an issue for us, as we are bringing our accounts with us, and we don't run out of work, for the most part. And as far as our accounts going overseas, I think that most of our accounts as well, refuse to have theirs shipped, I hoping that's why they are still here, and we are typing them. Not all of us Spheris MT's are happy about this change, but it doesn't help that the MT's we are joining don't want us there. We're not the bad guys

I personally am excited to get on some of your accounts. Our work is almost gone and there are still employees sitting here, so I guess we can all jump on and get your accounts that dont want to go overseas.

Maybe I can make some money again.

I can't imagine sending 5% of my work to QA, so that isn't really a worry.

Since we already have India MTs, this concept is not new to us; however, the accounts we bring with us are those that don't want to be done in India, so I doubt India will swallow them up. What I'm afraid of is that we will see MTs already at Medquist being put on our accounts.

From what I have gathered from the information we already received, not much is going to change for a while, we will have the same manager, same pay periods, and most likely the same QA people and procedures. It sounds like the change is going to be pretty "invisible" for a while.

Having been through this before when Spheris bought Healthscribe, I would imagine changes are a while down the road and hopefully not as bad as we fear, just like back then when we got bought out before.

I went through the previous buyout as well. I can't image MQ MTs being set up on our platform, rather vice versa. I am sure MQ is going to migrate Spheris accounts to DQ eventually, but this does take time. There will be changes, when and how big, only time will tell. I'm reserving judgment on just about everything until I see the proof in the pudding that it is actually worse or better. Spheris hasn't been a thrill ride since the implemetation of SR. Kind of hard to imagine that if I adapted and succeeded with that, I can pretty much adapt and succeed at whatever else is thrown at us.

accurate. A lot of the accounts that are going over already are being done in India. They are taking are 3rd shift work for the most part and taking the easy stuff althought managment says thats only because that is the stuff with the longest turn around time. I went through the previous merge with Total Emed and it wasn't that bad at first. Time will only tell what ends up happening, but I too am over the wait and ready to know.

I certainly wouldn't count on not being turned completely upside down by MQ. They are notorious for doing just that. Good luck.

this is a bitter pill to swallow. Some used to work for MQ, chose to work at Spheris instead. Worked hard to help build that strong client base they keep saying is the only reason it's sellable, now essentially to the ultimate rival. For those many years, we just helped make MQ bigger, who knew. I don't see any good coming from it but the fact that we still have a job at all. Not much else frankly.
