Has anyone heard of a place called Gammon Medical - sm

I was approached by her last year to work for her - great accounts, lots of work, straight typing, blah, blah, blah, decent wage - yeah, that lasted for about 4 months and then work was few and far between, couldn't get her on the phone anymore or to answer emails, then she finally does and admits that she lost that account to an in-house service or something vague like that. Wanted to try to hold my last check (over $1200) for a $100 foot pedal, didnt' get W2s sent until mid February. She is most definitely Jeckyll and Hyde.

"Gamon Mecical" produced a clinic in Australia. "Gammon Medical" brought up a Dr. Gammon who owns a clinic. Don't think she is an MTSO. By btdt's post, sounds like she just needed temporary help to clean up a backlog.

Reeks fishy to me.

I think the name of her company is Medtrans (not the one in California though). She is out of Springfield, Missouri.

That's exactly it, in Springfield. Like I said, she started out nice, would even chat on the phone about things going on and her husband came to the area I live in for fishing and blah, blah, blah. Then she just quit calling, work wasn't showing up, no emails. She said that there were 4 of us that she hired at the same time and we all were "un-hired" at the same time. She was holding my check until I threatened to turn her in to IRS for not getting W2s out on time. I finally did get my check and never heard another word from her. And like I said, she contacted me for employment. Sucks because I really like the accounts I was on and it was straight typing, but I prefer to work for less psychotic people anyway.

I am a potential MT, and I was researching this field and came across an ebook called The Successful Medical Transcriptionist. It's by a lady named Shelley Wipper, she claims to have been an MT for 12 years and made a successful living doing it, and the book is supposed to give Step-by-Step insight in how to succeed in the industry. okay, since they fired our old manager and this new person took over, i spend more time out of work than i do working...also, the ONLY reports i get now are over 2 minutes long (in case you didn't know, radiology is paid by report)...i used to be able to bust my butt, but make a decent living...in the past two weeks, my pay has dropped by about 45% due to lack of work and distribution of reports....all since this mangament change...i don't know if she is giving them all to her old team ...

Got a new one, my 4th in a year btw, and the last one I heard from every day, at least 10 times a day with calls, e mails, etc. This one started probably 2 weeks ago, haven't had a call from her to introduce herself, no e mail, no reply to my e mail...nothing. It is either feast or famine I guess. I just hope when it is time for vacay,I hear from her but if I don't, guess she won't miss me when I'm gone ...
