Don't let your production drop so you have to have your check mailed. It's Wednesday and mine hasn't shown up yet. Gotta pay $25 to have them express mail it to you, otherwise you sit and twiddle your thumbs and they don't care. What a way to treat your people.

Will be leaving FN soon. They're always whining for help on my backup account, but can't figure out it's because the MDs are terrible. One surgeon has been practicing in the US since 1978 and can't make a coherent sentence. One snuffles his nose constantly. One is totally unintelligible, been trying for 2 years now and I still can't do one of his jobs without sending it in with blanks. Last night I had one with a screaming kid in the background, sounded like they were amputating his arms without anesthesia, and MD blithely dictating away. Couldn't hear him and I felt like my teeth were coming out of my head. Threw that one back, sorry, and quit for the night.

Anyway, there's lots of work on that account.

The funny thing is you never hear from them until your production drops, or perhaps you returned a few jobs back and they want to know why. Actually, in their daily updates, I never see an abundance of work on any of the accounts. Certainly cannot count on them as your main source of income!

there are 3-4 jobs on an account and their status emails and they ask you to jump right on those - but otherwise the work is in great shape. Why the panic? They obviously have no idea whatsoever what it is like to need a steady flow of jobs to get a decent line count and make an income. Has not always been like this. Very disappointing.

I agree that there is not enough work and the status updates indicate this constantly. The work flow rarely makes any sense. I have all sorts of theories as to where the work is, but it's just my theories, nothing concrete.

Regarding paychecks being mailed, why would anyone pay for their check to be mailed. I never bothered to have my check deposited automatically and I receive it in the mail one or two days later than auto deposit without paying that large fee.

To those of you who return jobs, the company should contact you and question why. Most companies have a policy that you take whatever work comes into your queue. First in, first out. Those of us who never return jobs would like all the easy dictators, too, but we do whatever work is available.

I do agree that you need to consider this company as a part-time job. There is never enough work on any account. This includes weekends and most shifts. This includes if you are willing to work both straight typing and voice files, and also multiple accounts.

I returned the one job, probably the only job I have returned, except when my power has been knocked out and I had queued jobs, in the 2 years I have worked at FN, because I had already put in 8 hours, my butt was dragging from typing awful dictators, it was the last job pooled to me, and I just could not handle the screaming child. I thought my fillings were coming out and my eardrums had ruptured.

I agree, I don't pay to get my check. The problem is the last 2 paychecks have not arrived in 1 to 2 days, but more like 1 week. It's Thursday now and my check still isn't here. FN doesn't care, has to be missing 10 working days before they'll void it and mail out another one by slow turtle.

I am part-time evening shift, IC.

There is never any work the last 2 days of the pay period, yet FN people reassure me everybody is putting in their full day's work and not sucking it up at the end. I got a call today to make sure I'd be working my shift Sunday night. Well, yes, I'll be sitting here just in case a job shows up. Now, where's my paycheck?

So you sit there all day waiting for jobs . . . then you get an 11 minute job of a guy dictating while he is driving his car down a freeway. Not only that, I can tell when he is walking to/from the car, locking it, walking in the door, etc. This 11 minute job (have had them up to 15 minutes), gets you a 30 to 40 line count. Excuse me? I'm with you Tiffany, I was too exhausted and upset to deal with it. I have asked and asked for more work. I actually am supposed to have 4 different accounts, but only allowed to work on 2. Doesn't matter, THERE'S NEVER ANY WORK ON ANY OF THEM. There is no defending this company.

the loyalty does not go both ways with this company. I got a warning saying if I didn't hit minimum my DD would be discontinued. I emailed back saying I figured since the workload was so low this would be forgiven until it picked back up. Got an email saying "you're running out of work?" EXCUSE ME? Isn't everyone? The counts are next to nothing all over the board. Then she says since I didn't TELL HER I was running out of work, this one's on me. Isn't it OBVIOUS? Good luck, Tiffany

before my 4 hour shift ends - I email and tell them and I get a short email back thanking me - but I am only part-time so easy to keep in work for 4 hours - I think you just need to CYA - and keep your email and let them offer you more accounts

I have been down this road too many times with this company. I actually have four accounts, but not always allowed to work on them. I actually left a couple of years ago but came back after about 6 months. I cannot imagine why she didn't want me to leave in the first place when I told her I was tired of running out of work. She acted surprised, of course, and then asked what it would take to keep me here. WORK. That's all I want. I'm okay with it. It's time to let go.

Not sure what is up with them. They have several ads again but there is absolutely no work for us long timers. Suspect they are hiring newbies and paying less to get the work done. BTW, do not ever expect an increase in line rate. You will NEVER get one. Also do not expect to attain those bonuses they talk about in the ads - they have now made it impossiible to reach that level by maknig work unavailable, once you get close to making the bonus you can expect to see no work available ...

Wondering if anyone on here uses FutureNet (possibly the glitchiest, most annoying transcription software ever created). I use it at work. When I started using it, it seemed to have a pretty good medical dictionary in it -- recognized all the medical terminology and almost all of the drugs, so I ASSUMED that all that was included. So now we have a newbie, and when SHE uses FutureNet, it marks every single drug as an error (red wavy line), as well as all the medical terms. I'm to ...

I recently went back there part-time to supplement my day job after quitting because I got real tired of the highly fluctuating work flows. My husband really pushed me to do this because we needed the extra money. Once again, there is never any work for me to do, and yet they are hiring again? Saying they need 2nd and 3rd shift? Picking up from a thread earlier this month that is buried. Does anyone have any knowledge as to what is going on with this company? Many of their accounts always had limited work.
