My MTSO is going under and I have been sending out resumes like crazy. Either there is no reply or I get the "We decided to go with another candidate," spiel. The reason I said all you lottery winners is not because I am condescending. I mean it. It's like winning the lottery to find work anymore.

I can't find one anywhere, I get the same thing..that I am *so* qualified, but they're going in a different direction. I've been looking constantly and can find NOTHING. So when I see someone get one, I wonder how? where? and why not me?

Don't we say the same thing like how come they did and not me? I guess anymore you have to be lucky, considering that to one job there are thousands replying. So it's like reaching into a hat and picking a name for the MTSOs. It's just that our names have not yet been picked.

At least with the Lottery, if you win, you're richer. - "Win" an MT job, youre poorer every year!

This is the only career field that the longer you stay in it, the less and less you earn, but right now a pittance is better than zero.

I'm in the same boat when it comes to applying with a reputable company that I am truly interested in. The thing is, I have worked for a lot of companies because, same as the employer takes a chance on the employee, the MT takes a chance on the company, and it isn't always a good fit. As such, I am penalized for working for short stents with those companies. I did work for 6 years at MDI/Transcend as I loved it until after the merger and changes in ROM after switch to BT. They are like "Why so many positions?" I try to explain due to either platform, pay, NJA, etc, but I think they view that as excuses and my explanations fall on deaf ears. My test scores are great so I always get a call back but once they "realize" the number of positions held, I don't get the job. Could this be the same reason you are having a hard time getting hired? Guess I should just leave off all positions held prior to MDI/Transcend and just list the ones thereafter, especially since experience and quality seem to matter little to companies nowadays.

I have been an MT for over 7 years and only worked for 2 companies. Maybe I should lie and say I only worked for one because now I'm thinking they look at 7 years! Oh my! and the crap pay (0.07 cpl) and it's like, this person is overqualified - NEXT. I'm about to lose my only income and I will take 7 cpl and be happy with it. It's better than 0.0000!

not everyone wins. There are happy MTs at every company, depending on whether one gets a good account, good supervisor, straight typing, etc., or not. Total game of chance with many variables. ...

I can pick out at least 3 in that list that I know for sure just guessed. I've QA'd their work and it's horrible. Way to promote accuracy MM! You know what would get those blanks down? Educating dicators, fixing sound quality, keeping MTs in their primaries. Nevermind, that won't work; it's the MTs that need to improve, obviously. MM is run by complete boneheads. ...

You might want to check your paychecks and make sure you dont have any mystery deductions being applied to your paycheck. ...
