You can get out. First off, it depends on your financial future. I was 5 years away from SS retirement benefits, so I was in a position to just ride through answering phones and doing clerical work at a local retailer. I had no problem getting the job through our local newspaper. I didn't bother with online job application nonsense.

If you are young and full force in your working years, ditto on the local newspaper and other resources in your local community. You'll need to be more choosey in terms of salary than I was if you are young and building for your future.
