I didn't really answer the question.
Research is generally all online.
I think pay should be hourly, around $15-$20 per hour, more for difficult accounts. Editing should be around 10 cents a line. No one is going to pay that, but that seems fair in today's economy. I also think the companies should provide the computers. After all, no one ever had to take their own computer with them when they went to the office.
