Look at it this way - I disagree

Home offices are no longer deductible for a start; the pay for MTs is below par, not even close to minimum wage and they can get away with that. You never get a raise. You don't have to work at Starbucks, there are plenty of other jobs out there and MTs are very well versed in other types of jobs in the medical field.

If you feel you must work at home, due to childcare, etc., there are better WAH jobs. When my children were small, I worked 3 nights a week at a local hospital so my children didn't have to go to daycare and for that I will always be grateful and even then, 30 years ago, I was making better money with benefits than I do now working as an MT/editor, which wasn't even heard of back then.

Sometimes you have to look outside the box. It took me a long time and put myself through unnecessary misery with MT work, but no longer. I finally cut the cord and even though I do MT work as supplement, it is not something I rely on and the day is coming, when I will quit altogether, because I am tired of contributing to these blood sucking MTSOs!
