Tax identification number/TIN - Is this is a requirement now? Posted: Dec 22nd, 2021 - 12:11 pm
Is TIN now a requirement to work as an IC/sole proprietor? This is the second time I have been requested to get one in the recent past. I guess it takes awhile to receive a TIN, a few weeks from the IRS. Anyone have any experience with applying and/or obtaining one for work in this industry? I know we can no longer claim home office credits and get a flat rate deduction for that now. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA.
