I was also able to get hired by a couple of companies I called right after they posted the job opening. There was a company who posted recently on this board that I did call, and she was rather rude and put off by the idea that I even called her to ask her questions and to let her know I was interested. I guess some companies do not want to be inundated with phone calls, and others would rather you call than have to weed through resumes.
