My state has Workforce. It's what I was talking about in my post. They offer a lot but to take the training for any occupation, you have to pay for it. It's a lot of money, about the same as usual tuition at these schools. There are some grants offered but so far I haven't met the criteria. If I could afford it, I would get another more specific degree or a certificate in something.
I've been using their job database but I still run into the same problems...I'm just not qualified for anything. I have the wrong degree, certificate, and lack of experience for whatever is needed.
I was always under the impression that my skills as a medical transcriptionist would transfer over to other jobs but it hasn't been the case. I'm still trying though. To be honest, I have no idea what I want to do...I just know I want to be an employee, have a wage I can live on. I no longer really care what I do anymore. I usually look under transcription because it's what I know how to do but I've looked up other things too.
