Once trusted brands/manufacturers have also sacrificed quality for competitiveness (competing against China junk). I have 2 well-built old Moen bathroom faucets that we purchased 21 years ago - both are still working and look brand new - never had an issue with them. We purchased a kitchen Moen faucet last year and only 13 months later, it blew out and flooded the kitchen. Huge difference in their construction.
I have a 40-year-old Rival crockpot (made in the USA) that works beautifully and seriously looks almost brand new. My smaller Rival crockpot I purchased a couple of years ago started rusting on the outside after only a year and is on its last legs, and the list goes on, as we all know too well.
Seriously junky quality nowadays. The phrase "built to last" is unfortunately a thing of the past. So sad...
