Because they use sweatshop labor. That is why Apple and other electronics are made in China. The textile industry had to deal with labor unions and that is why they went offshore. This trend of having products made in China has been going on for at least 20 years, someone should have waked up and smelled the coffee long ago. We have seen it with medical transcription jobs going to India, it’s all about profit for the corporations. You don’t have to purchase OTC meds made in China, there are other options for that. You also don’t have to shop at Wal-Mart. There products are cheaper because they are anti-labor unions and they do business with the Chinese.
