Some people will thrive in that kind of environment. They don't see it as scut work at all. I suppose if you perceive your job that way, then it'll probably end up feeling like that. But, I think for the most part, the rewards outweigh all of the other stuff. I once knew a nurse who worked only with newborns in the special care nursery. She absolutely loved it. The shifts were long, but not that bad. Never more than 2 patients per nurse. Just have to find your niche.
