I had the same problem. But in the next screen after the half-hour blocks screen you can enter the specific time. So if your 6 minutes ran from 8 to 8:06, and you had no work from 8 to 9:15 for example, you would click the blocks starting at 8, 8:30 and 9 and then in the next screen with the little hour screens that come up you would click 8 for hour and 07 for minutes and then end at 9 for hours and 15 for minutes.
