Of every account I work on (seven, to be exact), six of them spell out numbers under ten. Basically, the rule I always follow is that if the number could have been a decimal, then type the 1/2/3. If it really couldn't be a decimal, then it is one/two/three. So it would be six days and 6 mg because there is really no such thing as "6.25 days" but there is such a thing as "6.25 mg". So two parts, but 2 inches, four patients, but 4 mL, et cetera.
