under performance management it is the company's discretion to bump it up. I quote from the handbook "Although the process is generally progressive in nature, discipline may be initiated at any level upon management's assessment of the incident or offense. The disciplinary are advisory and are not binding on the Company."
Really, no one is safe at any job that is "at will" and pretty much all jobs are "at will."
That's why backup plans need to be in place and I had one. Not the original poster but let go yesterday.
