There are a lot of reasons companies don't hire in - certain states

not just for those reasons you mentioned. I work (and have worked) for quite a few of those companies and have no problem with that policy. It's their business to run as they see fit. Yes, my eyes are wide open, lol. (BTW, it's not just MT companies that do this.)
