RHITs have exposure to MT and - Coding in their course

work but not as much as someone who exclusively takes a good MT course or a good coding course and then sits for a credentialing exam and becomes certified. So, they are not so much better than an MT/ME or a full-fledged coder. They know enough to do their job of maintaining the integrity of the medical record but maybe not enough to do only MT or coding alone without additional course work. Their job is different, even though they know some about MT and some about coding. One other thing is any good MT knows that we are not supposed to use contractions like can't or don't in the medical record, so with casual use like in a post here we could use them and they have an apostrophe in them. Also, lots of accounts do not want us to make eponyms possessive by adding an apostrophe. That's changed in the last 5-10 years. That's nothing new. All in all, it's not right to make fun of someone for making a spelling error, assuming they are so much better than us, and especially wrong when our own written criticism contains grammatical errors.
