What does it matter that the doctor said this? We have to type out some of the nasty stuff that patients say and the doctor quotes, so why not a prayer? How long have you been a transcriptionist to never have seen/heard this in a report before? I've heard docs say things along the line of "May God rest their soul" when a patient dies.
With all the bad there is to worry about or get offended by in society today, why would you be offended over something "good"? Just because you may not believe in prayer/God/Heaven/Hell, etc. doesn't mean the patient and/or the doctor doesn't. It's your job to type/edit what was dictated...plain and simple, so just do your job and STHU.
