The CMS Risk Adjustment Participant guide shows bone cancer coded as secondary. It does not state metastatic at all. Just bone cancer. Brain would follow that same "rule." I've seen this "rule" mentioned everywhere, including Facebook Inpatient Coders. Even my CCS exam prep class highly recommended by Andrews taught this. Wish I would have questioned it at the time...Just trying to find the coding GL that states this.
