Seriously - I feel as though I'm on both sides of this discussion. I don't want to stop proofing, I don't want to not care about patient safety and I want to have a good work ethic. But in many ways I feel we have been robbed of this by the mere pennies per line we're paid, and the fact that those above us seem to care very little for patient care, document integrity and more for the bottom line and the Almighty Dollar. I am trying to figure out how to have my cake and eat it too - in other words - how to increase my line count and make decent money while still have good quality and making few, if any errors. Doesn't seem to be possible and it makes me hate (yet again) what this field that I used to love has become.
