I have ten years in veterinary medicine, four years of Vet school and one (sad) year of Med school. I worked as a scribe, indeed, and loved every minute.

Someone had a question about the iScribes rates: you do not need an MT background, we train people with good writing skills. I hire people from legal, accounting, even retail if they are good writers and technical enough. And we get to pay them while they train, which I'm so very happy to be able to offer. Yes, it is at $8.5 an hour. Our scribes have direct communication with their assigned providers, and full EMR access.

After around 60 days most people are able to work independently, and the pay rate moves up to $10 per hour. There are internal career opportunities in management, in sales, training and in HR, which pay slightly more.

You have my email, if you have questions you'd like to ask. Of course, if this is just a "let's bash the little startup that got bought" exercise, I completely understand. It seems to be entertaining many of you.
