I used to be a supervisor in the hospital setting and they absolutely do that. It's ridiculous.
That's why TAT is supposedly life-or-death, as the MTSOs would have you believe (it's because they promise the moon at our expense), but I guess it's not that important when a doctor is catching up on a week's worth of work, is it.
