I find it hard to believe - they did not have a plan B

Posted: Aug 5th, 2017 - 11:28 pm

I programmed computers before there were PCs and I still say to this day:  Computers are great until they go down, and when they don't work, nothing does. I say it every time I go to a store where everyone is flummoxed when their system is down. If I ran a major transcription service, you can bet I would have everyone familiar with and getting refreshers on a simple, pristine (unattached to company servers, etc.) platform they could switch to at a moment's notice to keep workflow uninterrupted. SO many things can go wrong. Given N's treatment of its employees, I would have thought they would have a major concern about some PO'd employee with tech skills knowing exactly how and where to hit them (but that's just me).  I thought about that for years before this happened. One has to wonder -- and this is also just speculation, mind you -- if there is a reason they couldn't switch to a system independent of all their data machinations and manipulation, something actually transparent.
